: backup camera/ video input.
I have an idea but need the info to begin planning it.
Im wondering what kind of input there is for the backup camera on the nav unit. I want to figure out a way to input a video signal instead of the camera signal.
Yeah I know!!!Gotta get one first. I start my planning early. Also, Anyone know how many inches the load floor sits off the actual metal...Planning amp installation under there so I need about 3 inches. Stealth amp install. 4 amps power Distribution and a couple processors.
OOH! and the factory battery... How many Cold cranking amps does it have?
I really gotta get my GC soon....Im going through Stereo system withdraw...
oh yeah and what is the load capacity of the loda floor?
I know Iknow....some people cringe at the thought of adding the weight....
I am used to driving a mercedes E320.....I dont Think I will mind the extra weight....I could probably add like 1000 pounds to a GC SRT and still crap my pants when I drive it.
I might go with just 1 of the subs though....
ccbatson 01-26-2007, 07:38 PM What are you planning to input into the front row/driver viewable navigation screen? Get the point of the question?
What are you planning to input into the front row/driver viewable navigation screen? Get the point of the question?
Yes....Oh and I know its not exactly legal to do so.....
ccbatson 01-27-2007, 09:52 PM So, you don't mind disseminating the fact that you have poor judgement...nice. I hope we are not on the same roads at the same time, and feel sorry for the potential victims of said poor judgement.

Troll?
ccbatson 01-27-2007, 11:02 PM Nice retort....how about admitting this is a bad idea and not fomenting further misguided nonsense here so we can get back to having a useful and entertaining forum?
Nice retort....how about admitting this is a bad idea and not fomenting further misguided nonsense here so we can get back to having a useful and entertaining forum?
Bad Idea? No.....
I have had dvd players in front for the last 5 years...I have them for numerous reasons.. I have never crashed due to watching the screen.
My wife watches movies on long trips and my daughter watches movies also.
I am a responsible guy and I even cut phone conversations short when driving.....
If you want to go there, we could venture out to a conversation about how too much power could be unsafe.....Its the operator, not the car.
I enjoy having the option...
so my question still stands. Does anyone ELSE have any idea?
ccbatson 01-28-2007, 12:40 PM Do you have the option of drinking a pint of gin right before driving? No? Really? Why not? How about letting a blind person have the option of driving? Again, no? What the heck? Are we in communist Russia?
You watch tv while driving and have never had an accident (so you say)....Do you suppose there are alcoholics that regularly drink and drive, but have not (yet) had an accident? If so, should that make it acceptable and legal to drink and drive? Do you want to drive on the roads with these folks?
Face it.....it is a bad idea, you don't like being told that, so sorry....maybe I should reconsider it, and make you feel all warm and fuzzy not guilty for being weak minded....nope, its' still a bad idea, sorry for bruising your ego.
dbrisson 01-28-2007, 01:15 PM Do not pride your self on being special since you decided to tell someone its a bad idea.
You have removed all doubt of the ability to interact with people. I am going to stretch to the fact you are not a team player and have had problems with people of of your life.
ccbatson 01-28-2007, 01:24 PM Grasping, just hopelessly grasping for straws now aren't you? In case you are wondering, you could not be more wrong about me. However, I will not dignify your banal attacks with a specific response.

We get your point. Thanks for the feedback. Now, do you intend to repeat this constantly? If so, someone please help me find the Ignore button on this forum.

You are one of those people.....
Yeah, those internet guys that has so much wrong with himself that they want to go on an open forum and try to act like they have a life and it is all together.....
Me...nope, my life is toghether but not without its problems...I have never crashed due to my dvd player....I did however get t-boned at a 4 way stopsign by some stupid minddead woman that couldnt see the stopsign or the 3000 plus pound mercedes in the intersection due to the cell phone that was connected to her face....that was DEC 13 and my dvd player wasnt even on...So maybe I should watch dvd's while driving....Maybe I wont get hit that way.....
Either way I for sure would appretiate it if you would kindly vacate my post with your BS and let someone try to answer my question....
You wont change my habits and I wont change yours.....So please go away from my post....
Loser!!
Oh and you dont have to dignify my insult because I dont care....
Military taught me about your type....Brain dead until your body catches up....

Inferno SRT8 01-28-2007, 02:28 PM I think someone needs a HUG.
What crawled into this guys shorts. unreal.
ccbatson 01-28-2007, 05:08 PM I agree let's move on...I am not going to change your..um...minds?? and your not capable of changing mine (or putting together coherent sentences for that matter). Military taught you some moronic cliche huh?...did it come with a gold star?
Inferno SRT8 01-28-2007, 05:47 PM Are you trying to belittle everyone on this forum?
Just curious, you spoke your opinion but still seem the need to put others down to pacify yourself.
Good luck.
dbrisson 01-28-2007, 06:52 PM He is much smarter than all of us, he is a rehabiliation physician. Simple searches reveal similar drivel on the viper boards, along with the detroit free press pages. Just over middle age with an axe to grind.

Good thing there are many DBrissons out there to choose from during google searches...
ccbatson 01-28-2007, 07:07 PM Very nice...I am very impressed (really, no sarcasm) on that research dbrisson (but a little concerned about why you care that much, although also a bit flattered..I know that you didn't intend it that way, but...). I don't exactly agree with your conclusions, but close enough with a bit of venom on your part. Don't we all have some axes to grind? Some justified, others not so much, better to vent than to stew.
ccbatson 01-28-2007, 07:11 PM Hey, wait a minute, 39 is over middle age? Since when? US male life expectancy is 76, half that makes 38, give 2 years above and below which makes middle age 36-40..I am right there baby.

Damn youngster.

dbrisson 01-28-2007, 07:21 PM Really it was more wondering if there was a pattern. First to see if this was just a crusade against dvd players or if there was something deeper.
The quickness to try and infer greater intelligence was a trigger there was something more. ( i really had a profile of napoleon complex issues, but knew the occupation had to be something with decent disposable income, being there is a viper in the mix)
You might want to delete your address and phone from the viper forum, i was scanning for ip address in source code but that was pretty open. It also googles correct.
It also lead me to clean up my online presence as I though I was pretty secluded, using voip numbers for home and multi pointing email addresses, but as with all, the "forum" weakness to tell people about oneself is itself a trail.
Dude we both have one foot in the grave, the srt will just get us there faster, and the nav will tell us where the headstone is.
ccbatson 01-28-2007, 07:38 PM I will correct that Viper profile, I didn't realize , or remember that I had put that there...thanks a lot.
ccbatson 01-28-2007, 07:48 PM Whew...the viper forum profile did not have the information you mentioned for me. All it had was the user name, and birthdate (which was incorrect), no address or or phone #. Unless I am missing something??
dbrisson 01-28-2007, 07:52 PM I will send the link in pm, just so if it is correct its not much more public.
So Truce declared
Inferno SRT8 01-28-2007, 08:24 PM Is there where we group hug?

You need to go back to school and find out how to do brain rehabilitation....
And practice on yourself.
You have some major issues...
Sorry, Im not as smart as you..
Im just a down to earth 29 year old engineer.
I ill just have to start a new thread...and hopefully the moderators here will keep you out of it.
ccbatson 01-28-2007, 09:04 PM Its' called Traumatic Brain Injury Rehabilitation (or TBI for short), sometimes referred to as Nontraumatic Brain Injuries for self evident reasons, and I am doing just fine with that, but thanks for the concern. Before making me out to be a villain, you should recognize that it is you who slung the arrow about me being dead...I don't think the moderators need be concerned about me, but you.

Correction.....I simply posted a question....You felt the need to, not only ignore the question, but instead try to take on the roll of my adult supervisor and let me know how much of a bad boy I was for even thinking about this subject....
Im done with the conversation with you because you are an idiot. Maybe smart enough to get a phd, but lacking people skills....
Goodbye DOC....please stay out of my next post.
Now if indeed you are the respectable mature well-off Docyou say you are, then you will at least be mature enough to let others have a simple discussion.
But I highly doubt you are that mature...We will see.
Moderators...feel free to delete this post....Nothing to learn here
Move on folks. Start a new thread.

ndm: With apologies your thread has been hopelessly lost to those that would contribute to the hijack rather than the discussion. Please feel free to copy your first post to a new thread and begin again.
cccbatson: Enough! You are as welcome as the next person to open a thread topic of your own choosing. You are NOT welcome to derail a fellow member's thread simply because you disagree with their chosen topic. A post to express your opinion is one thing, but a post designed to provoke arguments, and belittle and insult those with an opposing view in the process, is not conducive to an open and intelligent discussion and, if allowed to persist, leads to an unhealthy board environment. Considering the majority of your posts are on this subject, rather than the GC SRT8, you may want to consider a public safety forum instead.
Everyone else: If the first hijack post, in ANY thread, was always ignored, those who use this annoying tactic would eventually go away or conform. By taking the bait, you not only give a rude poster the attention they seek, but you disrespect the original poster in the process, which discourages future posting.
When you see this sort of thing happening in the future, please use the "report post" feature (the ! icon; right corner frame above the post) or send me a brief PM with a link to the thread rather than perpetuate or ignore it. To those of you that did report the recent problem threads, thank you!
A little courtesy goes a long way. Let's all work together to keep this an informative and friendly resource!
