: 18K miles on 06? What price?

Dealer has fully loaded 06 GCSRT8 with 18k miles. never titled, used by gm's wife. They are selling it for $39900. I thought that was high, but edmunds is showing that price for dealer retail with those miles.
I offered them $30000 to see if what they would do. still waiting. What should I look for?

I probably won't consider it seriously, don't like the number of miles and i am working with one of the guys on the forum on his (to buy), just curious what I should look for on a used and what would be considered a good price for one with so many miles.

Thanks,
Jerry

Why are you posting this again on a differant board?

$39.9k is a scam ... i bought my '07 with 9 miles for $38k.

For 18k miles i would expect around $25k-28k

Mr Dredd - That sounds a very low to me.

But without knowing the condition and options it's really hard to assist.

I agree. At that price I would buy one for weekends and keep my other for weekdays.

Your 07 for $38k was that a base model?

I've been looking for an 06 for a few weeks, and from what I have come acrross, I would say $37,000 would be reasonable asking price from a dealer.

I found one in Wisconsin with 13K on it, loaded Nav, Dvd, and the price is $37,999. I havent seen any SRT Jeeps less than $37,500 even ones without Nav and Dvd. Good Luck.

35 would be a good price if it was fully loaded, 36.5 or even 37 would be fair

Mine with 900 miles was purchased at 38K. 18K miles is a lot of IMO, honestly, I would keep looking for a lower mileage 06, or even 07. When I was looking there were a lot to choose from. If you are st on this vehicle with 18K miles, 35K is the most I would consider (but I doubt sellers would go much lower...in fact, if this seller is asking 39, they may not go as low as 35 anyway). Again, keep looking is my advice.

No, fully loaded (minus rear DVD) bought it about 2 months ago

I heard stories about rattling coming from rear dvd, plus I would never use it so I decided to save some weight and rattles and get one without it.

$38K loaded excluding rear dvd? Wow what was invoice on your car??? Isn't it around $41K?
I paid $42K loaded including rear dvd and I thought I got a heck of a deal! I didn't want the read dvd either but it came with it...

I paid $38k in December for a fully loaded '06 with 18k miles. The price you pay really depends on the demand in your area. Pricing will always vary depending on location.

I got a fully loaded 06 with 16000 miles for $36,500. And it has the magnaflow exhaust on it. As for $25,000 to $28,000. Gotta be talking about a 5.7:)

If you dont mind me asking, What was the listed price for your GCSRT?

Im trying to get an idea of what the dealers will go down to when I go for my GCSRT.

Im hoping I can get them down to 36,500 but need to know what they were asking for it to begin with.
Thanks

I have 20K on mine and would not take less than $80K. It is way to fun!!!

Truthfully, I would expect pay around $34k with that mileage if it was really the GM's wife and she did not race it...

I deal in limited production vehicles almost exclusively. You wont' find a loaded 06 for 25-28. The Manheim Market value for the vehicle you're describing is between 29-33K, thats what a typical dealer would pay for it, if the condition is degraded or milage abnormally high it will go for less. They will then mark it up to between 36 to 39, depending on how much they had in it, and how much the manager wants to make off it.

If you want to know more then PM. Expect to pay between 33-37 for that vehicle, the closer you are to 33 the better off you are.

32 - 33,000. Fully loaded 07s are starting to go 35-37.

You are quoting a one year old thread. The price for that truck is much different now. No more than 30K with that kind of miles.

Thats ok. These cars are 2 years old now. I'm selling my 06 with nav & dvd, 27k miles. Will settle for $32,500. Local dealers are asking $36 to 38k.

Don't get sucked into the old Dealer's Wife's car crap. That thing most likely has 18,000 "demonstrator miles" and you know what that means. It was loaned out to any of the employees or sales people that wanted it to have fun for the weekend. Sorry, I think your $30k offer is more than fair if it shows absolutly no damage or excessive wear. Check out what they are going for at auction in the area and work from that number.

I traded my 06 in on my 08 last week and the dealer gave me 31k. Got below sticker on the 08. My 06 had 15k miles on it with all options and new front tires. Nothing wrong at all. perfect shape.

Hey!!!

Well, I bought my '06 fully loaded 17k miles Certified 8/80k out the door including taxes for $33k last year. It was in mint condtion except for a few scrapes on the wheels which is no big deal since they're getting chromed anyway while I run my winter setup. I checked out about 50 in a month from 06-08 and wanted the best deal period. I went with the '06 since I found a dealer who sold & took mine in on trade and then resold to me for an awesome price!!!! Take your time, they're many to choose from and please don't fall for that line from the dealer on what a Unique vehicle this is and thats why the price is what it is. Yes, it is an awesome SRT & this is my 3rd. But, if they were so Unique then there wouldn't be so many for sale. I buy & sell cars for a hobby and most dealers think everyone is an idiot. I choose areas that are comfortable for me in my search and go from there. I run carfaxes on everything and compare apples to apples. Good Luck!!!

Right, it sold on Ebay and the seller appears to be a credit company (probably had a pair of jackasses take it from some low life POS who couldn't pay his bills and knew it was going to be repoed so he beat the balls off of it.

Now, real world, $25-30K on an 06 fully loaded with 18K miles from a dealer who actually needs to back up his sale......NO WAY. I traded my 06 in with 22K on it and got $31K on the trade. And if you think I got raped on the other end, wrong, I got the new vehicle under invoice.

It sold for 31. Same as yours. I never mentioned 25-30K. There were ~20 that did not sell in the last 30 days. Most are asking 35- 38+. My reply was in response to someone thinking a ride like I found in eBay should be worth much more. I think 31 is about right for the mileage.

IMHO.

And, as I've previously stated, I think that transaction looked a little fishy.
(1) the ad says that the wholesale price is 35k. No one is dumb enough to lose money on a car they can get more for.
(2) the purchaser bought something else from the buyer earlier in the month--a little coincidental.

I'd bet that that jeep finds it's way into autotrader or eBay again shortly.

I purchased a 07 with 17122 for $34800. Mint condition one owner. Was looking for 6 months. I see 06's in chicagoland area between $34 and $36K. do not pay just under 40 for a two year old car. my buddy works at a dealer and says the car market is awful right now they should work on that number with you if they say no there is always another one. Be patient
