If you're lucky enough, you might have a harness included for a simple install. It's mainly for the overseas models which is required apparently. They are referred to as "rear fog lights" and can be used as brake lights or turn signals. Happy searching!

I've searched and found one or two threads, and no step by step how-to's.
What do you need to buy.
Do you need one or two headlight harnesses??

Yeah, my truck has that harness. Its wired, but I've never bothered tracing the harness to see where it goes.

Bro, follow those directions step-by-step. So easy to do. It will take you less than 30 minutes easy.

I changed the sockets and have them working for tails, brakes, and turns. See posts 62-69 on the above thread (with pics).

I want to run running, turns and brakes, too. I know I have to buy the sockets, but I'm confused as to how many trailer hitch harnesses to get, and what wires from the sockets go to what wires on the harness. I did something similar on my Busa, but they had a VERY comprehensive tuturial on our sight with pics of all 11 steps. This write up kinda blows. Any help would be appreciated.

It's ok, it's ok. I'll do trial and error, since there's 4 different sets of instructions in one thread, and I'll do a step-by-step, with pictures and post it.
Can anyone on this forum do a F&cking write up? I'm on like 10 other discussion boards (I'm a moderator on 2 of them). 3 for Busa's, 4 for Fords, and 3 for Ninjas. Everyone does write ups with pics and detailed instructions, except for this website.

Here's an example of a write up, if you're wondering: http://www.hayabusa.org/forum/electrical-mods/61563-how-wire-hid-delay-timer.html

And every A$$wipe on this forum that tells someone to search, when search function on this forum blows. It pulls up everything!!!!! I swear to God.

Why aren't there stickies for stuff like this? There's buttwipes that will tell you to search. Don't be search Nazi and help people out.

And the guy that run's this turd wants money for premium membership. Ha!!!

Keep responding threads such as "Let's see your tinted tails," "Are our Jeeps good in the snow," and "Transfer case whine."

Jesus Christ, make this stuff stickies!!!

My 2 cents..., :boohoo:

The door goes two ways pal.......you're that unhappy here and not getting your fix of instant gratification, (particularly after joining soooo long ago) go to another Jeep forum....maybe you'll be happier.

Been here a long time, and there isn't much I haven't been able to find. Admittedly we could use some nice DIY stickies, but no need to get your panties all bunched up.

And I'm surprised that with you being on 10 other boards, a moderator and all that, and probably limited with your time to visit, that you wouldn't just skip over the transfer whine, good in snow etc. type threads if they don't interest you.

And, even for a veteran like yourself, the search button can be your friend.
Or like you said, just figure it out yourself, and post up some nice pics for us all.

Hopefully you will hang around and find some of what you search for. And oh yeah welcome to the forum.

Now that we've taken that short detour to Negative Town, let's see if I can brighten your spirits.

I've read in many other threads related to rear fog lights that many of our esteemed colleagues (moreso with '08 models) are having some issues with only having the bulbs and sockets, but no plugs/wiring. Let me first say that I am the proud owner of an '08 with the whole she-bang (wiring and all), but they don't work.

With that being said, other not-so-fortunate members are dying to find out what kind of plug these sockets use. Some have claimed to have searched tirelessly to no avail. Avail this:

http://www.bmotorsports.com/shop/product_info.php/cPath/109_130_132/products_id/1010

I am a little disturbed to see that so many people couldn't find these things. They are a simple (and ubiquotous) 2-cavity MetriPack 150 series connector from Delphi. This is the whole damn kit for $4.25, including the CPA (connector position assurance). Get at it boys. No more patching $h!t together, start doing some real harness work. And for God's sake, do a professional write up with lots of pictures so that guys like Purevl2 will be happy. Lol.

Oh, and for those of you who claimed they searched forever for these things - I started reading about the rear fogs about 6 hours ago (bored at work), climbed under my '08 about an hour ago to identify the plug, and typed it into google about 15 mins ago.

My panties are no longer in a bunch and I'm done whining. I'm gonna shut up now and mind my own business. I just had to get this off my chest.

Thanks for not retaliating too much against me, fellas.

Naahh...you weren't really whining.....just pi**sed. And, besides, it's the weekend and a lot of us wear panties. Just ask "Ace". Seriously, I believe with your experience you will have a lot to contribute to the forum. And, you quickly saw the need that many others have expressed for a "How too", or "DIY section".

And, there are several knowledgeable and pic posting guys here who contribute greatly in lots of areas. I will agree with you too, that without choosing almost the exact wording necessary, the search function is.....shall we say "over helpful".

You should have been around in the early days and seen all the different threads on trailer hitch development. In my case, with the 06 with the 3 bulb tail light set up, regarding towing and bumper fog lighting issues, I was fortunate. I Use bumper lights for brake light function only.

Jeep came with OEM 4 and 7 pin harnesses already in place. No starscan, socket replacement,or anything else needed. Simply tapped in to correct wires to enable.

Anyway, good luck, a true welcome to the forum, and look forward to your posts. :D

Thanks, Teda. First of all, let me say that as long as I've been here, I do love the people here. I'm just not thrilled with the format, and like you've said, it seems like everyone thinks there should be improvements. I will be tackling the DIY thread with pics sometime this weekend!!! Thread to follow.
