: Gsm 2wd Do Not Buy!

Do NOT waste your money.
The alleged "kit" consists of wire and switch for 100 dollars!!! That requires cutting of the stock harness wires! DO NOT BUY!!!

I could find no pictures of the "kit" on the net or on their site. One would think for a hundred dollars you would get a male and female transfer case connector with the appropriate wire tapped into it and then the switch. Instead you have to cut a wire on the vehicles harness, voiding your warranty blah blah blah. It could have been done with a harness that you could remove!

Worst of all I call up and say Id like to make a return and the guy says " there is no return on electronic parts" I said I didnt even touch it, and how is it electronics, its two wires, some tie wraps and a switch? He says "is has wires so id call it electronics" So I paid 100 bucks plus shipping for wire and switch? He says "what about the research and design" I almost laughed and hung up.

Research and design? Calling a dealer and saying "what wire on the harness engages the front diff? Oh the dark green with yellow? Thanks Ill just snip that one!" PLease !

I wouldnt buy a thing from this company if this is their attitude, customer service policy or research and design.
There is no place or policy on their site that says no returns.Im sure one will appear instantly now.If they had brain they would give a full refund and continue to sell this "kit" at about 20 dollars plus shipping and make the correct kit at maybe $125 with the factory connectors. Dont let em try to give you nonsense that a pass thru connector will throw a code or light on the dash. It wont I checked the resistance. Basic electronics knowledge.

Let me share with the world the joke you will recieve for 100 dollars plus shipping.
please see the pic and note the unbranded junk switch, which would be about .59 cents at radio shack, which has one of its terminals crudely hacked off and left sharp and exposed to cut other wires under the dash and or short out.
The first person who pm's me that wants this junk can have it. Free. Its not worth hacking up your car's wiring. Gsm, I wont be be wasting my time monitoring this thread, so pm me if you have something to say.More to follow, as I feel the need to produce my own kit for less that is plug and play, no cutting, no warranty issues.
Thanks for taking my money wasting my time and feeding the competitive spirit of the USA. This thread will appear on every SRT website and will disappear as fast as it was posted if were given a refund.

Things like this are exactly what these forums are for. What a joke, but sorry you had to take the hit for everyone else's benefit.

GSM makes shiny pretty parts that are pieces of junk, and they have horrible customer service.

You can have 2wd for free with no codes stored. Just pull the "EDIFF" fuse under the hood and voila! 2WD until you put it back in and cycle the key.

So what will you pay me??? LOL!!!

I saw Scott on SpeedTV last night - some horsepower show. The company looked very reputable; unknowing customers are none-the-wiser, and hence, are in for a surprise.

We made the 2wd mod at the request of customers.

We make no claims other than it will give you the option to go to 2wd

as far as the instructions being bad , they couldnt be easier its a very simple mod and its for this reason we dont do returns on electronic items.

I am sorry if you recieved poor customer service, we have a full staff and I am also avilaible .

please call me directly with any questions

Most companies do not accept returns on electrical items because they are "active" components and it would be impossible to tell if they do not work because of the way the are installed or other non testable issues.

To not return or credit a switch, wire, and wire ties because they are electrical in nature lacks common sense, its just a switch and wire.

Huh? You don't take returns on electronic items because it's a simple mod? Is it just me, or does that not make any sense at all?

If you're going to have a no return policy, at least make it a coherent one.

You have to admit, if they allowed returns on these switch kits they sell, most people would want to return them as soon as they open the box. Really what you're paying for is the instructions.

Imagine if a customer ordered the kit and had it shipped directly to a garage who installs it on their Jeep... without the customer ever knowing what the kit consists of. They drive around and have fun smoking their tires no problem: This would be a perfectly happy customer, as the mod works as advertised and they would be thinking they got what they paid for.

Anyway my point is that yes this product is overpriced but if you ordered the kit don't be surprised they won't accept a return. I posted instructions how to put the Jeep in 2wd mode before anyone knew about it, including GSM, so don't blame them for your slackness in searching the forums! :)

We have had few people copy what we sent them and then return the product that had been clearly tampered with.

The 2wd mod is Very simple and that is why we dont take returns, I like the comment on the instructions being bad, they couldnt be any easier....

That still doesn't cover the MULTIPLE comments on your lack of customer service. You say you provide clear instructions...... yet the masses say otherwise. At what point do you start to listen to and believe the customers?

I can only answer the customer that complained, and I asked him to call me directly.

if you call you will get a knowledgeable person that can answer your questions.

Thanks

I think that's bull. I bought one thing from gs in the past and they F^^%$% up on that too...

Yeah people could have done a bit of searching and got the info for free, but that does not give gsm the right to sell such a lousy kit... Such a kit makes the whole company look bad as if they went to radio fart, got the stuff from there and put it in a gsm box... it may work but you guys DO NOT have the right to charge the kind of money you do for that. Hands down I think you are wrong.
You should also list on the site what the kit includes so people will know what they are getting for $100 bucks... thats the least you could do.

The thing is they have the right to charge what they want and if people pay it, well they made a few bucks. The part that is distrubing is that if someone returns the parts which are not "active" electronic components they shoul dget there money back. Most web customers will buy afew smaller items before larger purchases so this gets you a good indication of who you are dealing with early.

The GSM post went to infer you are paying for the instructions, but no where on the listing does it say you are paying for as a product is "intellectual property' and the components are just a length of wire and a switch. I think people would be less upset then. Also if you need to base profit margin of $100 wire and switches something is wrong.

Playing the electronic or electrical component no return is just a red flag to further confirm what everyone has posted on the multiple forums. I am glad i read these forums before I purchased my other components.

As for ge2 post it doesnt appear they listen at all.

Correct.... I did call them (several times) with installation questions. I got told I was the only person who had ever called, not understanding the directions. That's first class right there.

If the product was not so blatantly overpriced in the first place, there would probably be less people wanting to return it.

"I think there was a point were our customer service lacked but we have fixxed that"

How did they "fixx" a problem that they only "thought" they might have had?
