If you like shifting manual than the jeep is badass but might get boring after a while.

The wife has an 04 S4, very different vehicles, if you like cruising on the freeways or banging thru twisty roads the S4 is great, around town the SRT8 can't be beat (literally)
Around here the Audi's have become "chick" cars there is almost always a female driving.

A friend of mine says he would get the older V6 TT S4 since its more modable. This coming from an Audi Certified Tech with a 4.2L S4 right now.

Although this is cool as hell, not an S4 but pretty close.

B6 S4's are for women and children.;)

My buddy has one... I have raced him in many vehicles, SRT 4, E55 amg, SRT 8 jeep, B5 S4 with some mods, whipple cobra, and CTS-V... I have had all those cars since he bought his S4 in 2005... He has never been able to beat any of them... not even close.

The V6 2.7 TT are very mod friendly, Not much you can do to a 4.2 V8. The RS4 is a whole different animal. Id take a RS4 over the jeep.

I had an 05' S4, Dolphin Grey, all stock....didn't have it long enough to even put an exhaust on it. It was a fun, fast little car...and I mean little. If you have kids, I'd rather have the JEEP. From a dig, no way will it beat a stock JEEP SRT and since you can't do much to mod it (intake, chip, exhaust) even those won't bring you close! On the highway, it was a great cruiser. I remember driving it home in pouring rain the first day I bought it. I hauled azz and it felt so stable on the road, very comfortable on smooth roads. Suspension was somewhat stiff and hard though and could easily be annoying on potholed streets! I also had a chance to track it for a day. It pushed like a PIG in hard corners...waaaayyyy too much understeer for a what it was intended to be but that's partly due to the AWD system. Gas mileage was not much better than the JEEP

I love my JEEP! Stock or modded, these are bad azz beasts that just do everything well. See my sig, and of course I like it even more. Sounds so much meaner than the S4, looks meaner, has the performance, has a bunch of mods now to take you to 500+HP. I have never had it on a track although I did do a day at the SRT Driving Experience with the JEEP o an autocross course. It felt big and heavy, which it is, but brakes are awesome and at the dragstrip, none of the other SRT cars coud keep up! At 130 on an oval track, we had 3 JEEPS side by side while the professional drivers showed us how stable they were at speed. This is what prompted me to purchase one. You will not be disappointed with either one but if I had to do it all over again, I would definitely take the JEEP. Hope this helps!:D

Hell yea SRT it is, I ve been reading alot o these forum and you guys seem like a great bunch. I have identical twin 2 year olds so I could use the Jeep. I used to have a modded 02 Overlnand JGC, that thing jumped off the line I cant imagine what the SRT8 feels like

Interior wise Audi is way ahead...but the Jeeps nice too. S4 is very different and really not that fast. The 2.7L TT is old of course (02 last year) and is kind of fragile (I hada modded '00). Buy the Jeep, you be happier all around. BUT go RS4, then Audi :)

We have both B6 and WK SRT8.

If you need room for kids and stuff, the Jeep is better. It is also marginally faster in the stoplight grand prix.

Some groups dont let the Jeep compete in track events, autocrosses, etc. There is no decent / fast suspension available off the shelf for the Jeep (like PSS9,etc) and it needs one to hold its own on the track.

sy1616 is right that the B5 S4 is a bit of a hand grenade, and the B6 will be faster in stock form. The B7 (which is essentially the same car) will also be the last V8 S4 apparently. If you want to go really fast, an MTM supercharger will make your B6 as fast as about any B5 out there. This is big $'s though. You will get more speed for your go fast $ from either the B5 or the WK, and the Jeep will last longer.

The biggest issue with all of the S4s, but especially the B6 and B7 is there's no way to fit a bigger tire... and it really needs one, especially in the front. The RS4 is worth it if you can find one because it has those huge flares in the sheet metal.
