: What would you like to see different?
AlexT 01-24-2007, 04:59 PM OK, I'm ready to start talking about what I'd like to see different about my Jeep. Here's a couple that come to mind after a whole week of ownership:
Larger fuel tank, 200 mile range is going to be a PITA. With my Excursion, and it's 500+ mile range, I at least have some time between fill-ups to forget how much gas it's burning.
Integrate EVIC into the NAV display (which would also mean having a smaller display for non-NAV equipped vehicles), or at least evolve out of the blue LED readout that still looks stuck in the 80's. And when you do that, put more effort into developing better trip computer functionality.
Equip it with a true dead pedal. I'm sure there are aftermarket options out there, I just haven't looked. But a vehicle designed with this level of performance capability needs one.
Fatter steering wheel. It just needs a bit more meat, IMO.
Minor things, and overall I couldn't be happier with my purchase.
What other things would you change?
Alex
Honestly I dig just about everything except the hard plastic interior. And I'm working on eliminating that a few pieces at a time :)
TXBLU 01-24-2007, 05:45 PM A larger fuel tank (26-30 Gallons)
A heated steering wheel
No rattles from the rear (suspension??? I still hanen't found that last rattle!!!)
50-60 more horsepower
Selectable 2 wheel drive mode
A nav system that can be programmed while moving
A better polish job on the wheels
Upgraded trim fasteners
More leather in the interior
AlexT 01-24-2007, 06:02 PM Oh, how could I forget this one.
Xenons. Stock headlights aren't bright enough on dark roads.
As far as the rattle from the rear, the only noise I get is rear seatbelts occasionally banging on trim.

MrHemi 01-24-2007, 06:42 PM All of the above... plus:
Better/stiffer door hinges (getting sick of door coming back and hitting my shin)
More finished looking headliner (front near windshield looks like crap)
Better quality speakers/larger amp/add a sub woofer
Wheel-well liners in the rear... kind of an unfinished look going on in there
FireStRT8r 01-24-2007, 07:22 PM Sequential Manual Gearbox with F1 paddles!!!!
I can tolerate the terrible American Made interior. The ONLY feature lacking in this vehicle that will cause me to sell it in fewer than 5 years is an SMG transmission. My buddy two doors down has an M5 (and is waiting on an RS4) and the transmission on that thing is sweet. That is top priority and only priority!
shodanusmc 01-24-2007, 08:05 PM -Better paint quality
-Less Plastic inside
-Different front Fasica so it will not get ruined if you ever need to have it towed
-Xenon lights
-Heated Wheel
-Eliminate the unevenly chopped front of the head liner
-Windshield Molding on the top of the glass
-Better tire pressure sensor system
-Option of different tires
-Longer initial warranty
-Performance options warranteed by manufacturer
-50 more horses
-Better factory and dealer QC
For the money though, its a good deal
timster 01-24-2007, 08:09 PM more torque/HP and better MPG - also a tire wheel combination that fills out the wheel wells better
jlandbl 01-24-2007, 08:15 PM A six speed manual option.
kramsay1234 01-24-2007, 08:29 PM Let me start by saying I love my truck.
- should be a mopar hitch option with a 2" receiver that doesn't require the bumper to be hacked up to install
- can't keep the rear hatch clean and the rear window gets filthy when it rains (must be issue with all the new body Jeeps)
- doors hitting you in the legs all the time is annoying, but at least you know a stiff breeze won't blow them shut
- stereo could use bigger amp and a sub (where is that Kicker option for the 07's??)
- turning radius makes it tough for U-turns or in tight Parking garages
- heated rear seats missing
- programming Nav on the go should be an option we can turn on like the Garmin units
- Xenons should be an option
- bigger fuel tank w/b nice
- less plastic in interior w/b nice, but have to remember it is a Jeep and their hertitage is hose out your interior, but BLACK interior would have been sweet
- NO COMPLAINTS on the rims. Love them and they get all the looks!! Have to admit SRT did amazing styling job on these for factory

Does anyone know if the spoiler helps that?
programming Nav on the go should be an option we can turn on like the Garmin units
Some geek needs to come up with a fix for that. And while they're at it, how about a work around so we can turn on the rear camera without being in reverse? Not sure what use that would be, but seems fun.

Rick G 01-25-2007, 04:38 AM Surprised no one has mentioned this yet. Jeep needs to try different brake pads that don't squeal, score the rotors and create exessive amounts of brake dust. Some members here have found a satisfactory aftermarket option so why can't Jeep?

These are high performance brakes, so noise and dust are part of the deal. Any pad compound that eliminates one or the other will result in less bite and some degradation of braking performance. I think it's pretty cool that SRT started at this end of the spectrum; you can certainly replace them with a low dusting/low noise lower performing pad option on your own.
As far as the scoring goes, that I agree with.
