When I turn my car on, the boot-up screen one the nav unit is a black screen with the crysler logo. I jst had my car in for service and I could have sworn that before it was in it said JEEP... What do your screens say?

I've issued strict instructions to my dealer "No nameplates or stickers"

This has happend to me before. It only occurs after the battery has been disconnected for some time.

It will once again display "Jeep" once it starts to re-communicate with the BCM.

The REC Nav unit is used in several Dodge/Jeep/Chrysler vehicles... They are not going to make a NAV for Dodge, and one for Jeep, etc...

It will be fine soon!

It also happens in my WJ with the RB1 if the battery is disconnected for a while....

If you turn your car on again it will say Jeep. When I first removed my factory radio and installed the factory nav unit, it said Chrysler on the first ignition cycle, then started showing Jeep on the second and later ignition cycles. As was previously stated, it will correct itself once it communicates to the BCM.

the logo doesn't come from the dvd. i have swapped my discs around and i see dodge and jeep correctly in both srts.

All three of the logos are stored on the disc. As mentioned, the unit communicates with the BCM to determine which image to grab from the disc and display.

Any way to change it from Jeep to SRT8? With the radio off the screen displays the time; it would be cool if we can substitute a logo or nothing at all.

So it looks like ripping the dvd as a backup, but changing the image will do the trick for my message of the day
