Thinking of putting in a Mag-Hytec or similar rear end
cover on my SRT8. This adds about 2 qts of oil to the
stock rear end, has cooling fins, stainless steel, magnetic
drain plug.

It also is very cool looking.

Anybody change their rear end caps yet?

I am still waiting for my local customer to come in to see if they will fit.

If he comes in, and they do fit.... I'm in. I'd really like to swap that out.

If they fit, I would recommend 2 of them. One for the front and one for the rear!

Do these fit? I'm looking to buy 4 of them if they do. Front/Rear of both SRT-8's. Keep us posted Southernhotrod.

I just got an email back from Mag-Hytec...

"I'm sorry but we don't have the Jeep's new dana 44 available. Thanks
for the inquiry."

Forgive the ignorance guys, but what exactly would this do?

Can someone get a measurment from the rear end housing to the "track bar"?
#1 is the "track bar" in the diagram.

The cover height is approx. 3.1"

Wow....well they're pretty useless.

OurZoo,
Essentially this particular cap would allow for more lube capacity in the
differential, provide additional cooling of said lubricant, allow for
easier lube changes, and provide a magnetic drain plug to attract
metal shavings that do occur.
It also has good looks and provides some "bling" to the underside of
the vehicle.

"Flex" on the "orange" forum was talking about replacing the rear end cover. As I recall, the part sent didn't fit for some reason, but don't know what happened from there.
The stock drain plug on our Jeep is magnetic, b.t.w.

Hmmm, seems this particular cover does not fit.
Wonder who makes a similar unit that would fit.

Any ideas where to look?
