Just wanted to know if anyone had any experience with service dapartments in So Cal? Wanted to know who is good, and where I should go. I would prefer to go to Buerge or La Brea Chrysler Jeep because they are the closest, but in the end just want the best service possible. Thanks in advance for any help.

I bought mine at Buerge but haven't taken it in for service other than installing the VES. Their service department worries me as they have nooooooo room and all the cars are packed in there. At least that's the way it was when I picked mine up.
I've heard good things about the service at Shaver in Thousand Oaks and since I'm pretty much in the middle of them and Shaver, that's probably where I'll be going. Hulksmash and SheriSRT8 gave me the 411 on Shaver. Better see you next week!

I bought my 2000 Cherokee at Buerge in Santa Monica and my 2007 SRT8 at Shaver in Thousand Oaks, so I have personal experience with both dealerships, and Shaver wins hands down when it comes to service.

I found Buerge to be simply overwhelmed. Their location makes them ground zero for A LOT of Jeeps. Aside from that they just seemed very apathetic. Worse still, every warranty repair was an argument. Even though I bought my Jeep there, I would have it serviced at the dealership by LAX because I dreaded the inevitable back and forth on warranty services that any other dealer would handle no questions asked. One time they tried to tell me that my broken seat track was not covered by the bumper to bumper warranty, which of course it is.

Shaver on the other hand has consistently treated me very well. Their service people are excellent and their Service Manager seems to just "get it". I’ve never had them argue about anything. They even fixed a chipped piece of paint on my door, when they really didn’t have to. When I got my Mopar CAI they installed it for FREE as a "Thank You" for buying my car there. Lastly, their mechanics are SRT certified, which is VERY important. Not all dealerships can work on these babies.

There are two sides to Shaver Jeep: There is the sales side, which is run by idiots and staffed by doofuses (sp?) The service side seems to be much better.

For service, I've worked with Steve Titlow at Shaver. I had asked for some of the TSB's to be addressed. He couldn't duplicate any of them, but did the one for the windshield seal. He gave me the "TSB's are not just done on every vehicle" speach. That's okay. If I have the issue, then it'll get done.

They did an oil change for $50.00 plus tax. Pretty reasonable for a synthetic fill.

Right before a trip to Mammoth, I discovered the tranny o rings leaking. He took the car in first thing in the morning w/o an appointment and got it done in a little bit over an hour, while I waited. I really can't ask for anything more.

I like the fact that Shaver is right next to US 101. If any trials/tests need to be done at speed, it's pretty easy.

As an aside, Canoga Jeep (no longer in business) in Canoga Park had an excellent service facility. Very old world. The service writer clipboards still had American Motors logos on them. I had my old ZJ serviced there. They were swallowed up by David Ellis Chrysler last year. According to my mom (who just sold her ZJ), their service department is pretty bad. Don't go there.

Let us know what you do.

Yea, I've been to La Brea a few times...nothing special.

Buerge - I've called them a few times but they never have time for me so I agree with them being overwhelmed.

I'm in the South Bay and I went all the way to Casa De Gonzales to be my Corsa exhaust installed. Their tech, Greg i think it was, has an SRT8 himself and is very knowledgeable. Haven't been to Shaver, but I'd def. consider it if they only charge 50 for an oil change....I paid 90 at La Brea.
