: curt 11103 trailer hitch pics
SRedrockT8 01-19-2007, 03:18 PM got my curt hitch today & put it on. install took a total of 10 minutes once i was on my back with the needed tools. i don't tow anything but i did need a place for a bicycle rack and this will do perfectly. 1 1/4" reciever, 2000 lbs total trailer weight, & 200 lbs tongue weight. the hitch itself weighs 24 lbs.
stock exhaust with the curt.
is it there?

Black_SRT8 01-19-2007, 05:08 PM Clean install - nice job. Best inconspicuous hitch setup I have seen yet.
Str8Srt8 01-19-2007, 10:01 PM Thanks for the info. Another great bike rack solution.

Mopower 01-20-2007, 10:54 AM Looks good. Has anyone tried this with the Moper/Corsa exhaust? I don't want to order it to find out it won't work.
scbombsquad 01-20-2007, 06:20 PM I have that same hitch on mine. The way it is set up it won't work with the Corsa exhaust. I'm not too sure it will work with any aftermarket exhaust, but it works great for towing...

SRT Great 01-21-2007, 03:17 PM Here's pics with my B&B exhaust. I know it's dirty! Only mod was cutting off one of the chain hook eyes.

thanks for posting your pics. when i do exhaust it will be the b&b exhaust so it's nice to see it working with the hitch. since all i'm using my hitch for is a bike rack, the eyes are of no use for me.
How in the hell do you get the pin in?? Seems you need to be a contorsionist to do so??

DRE77 02-14-2007, 02:42 PM That is the most discrete trailor hitch I've ever seen. Looks great! If I ever need one in the future, that will be the way I'll go.
SRedrockT8 02-14-2007, 04:16 PM where can i get this hitch?
here's a link. bottom of page. they list an install difficulty of 5 but i think thats a typo. should be a zero. i've purchased other items from etrailer in the past and they've been good. cool site.

The pin isn't too hard to get in, believe it or not. However, you will typically need to get chain extensions and electrical extensions to reach under the rear apron - SAFELY. Home Depot sells both.

Will a 1-1/4" to 2" adapter clear the exhaust???

I run the smaller receiver, but have a 2" ball on it. Good for 2000lbs. Works fine. Imo - I would say the adapter might be pushing it. There's only about an inch of extra room around the receiver and the exhaust tips.

So the curt 11103 trailer hitch can hold up to 2K pounds?
So the curt 11103 trailer hitch can hold up to 2K pounds?
yes...Could probably cheat a few hundred pounds, but I would not go much more without a cross brace and decent gusset under receiver tube.

I agree. I've done 2200 a few times with 2 waverunners.
BlackedOut 02-16-2007, 12:17 PM I need a hitch to tow my jeep wrangler around. Is there any hitch out there that i could get with a 2" recivever and tow the wrangler (3500 lbs) plus the weight of the trailer. Ive looked all over the web and cant find anything...

There was a posting on this board from an avionics engineer in Texas (I think) that did a custom install of a class 3 (as I recall) with the reciever through the rear bumper. He posted his design so others could make use of it ... try the search function

I would PM TXBLU ... not sure if he did any load tests but given the design effort I'm guessing he may be able to share his thoughts on what he was trying to accomplish.

I have towed both my 3-rail motorcycle trailer (Corvair front suspension) and a Wells Cargo 3500 pound box trailer with no problems whatsoever. Most folks never even realize my GCSRT has a hitch on it, and when they do, they would swear it's a Mopar accessory. I love it!!!

I have a wrangler as well and I use a tow bar to pull it to the track and I have no problem.yes I race the wrangler as well, hate to say it is faster than the gcsrt.
I even tow my 3200lbs 20ft fishing boat with it,

sfin54 05-10-2010, 05:11 AM Anyone know if the curt hitch will work on the 2006 GCSRT8? I see it listed for the 2007-2009, but 2006 is not listed.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

MNBob is correct. I had it on mine also.
robjeep 05-13-2010, 07:17 AM Would the Curt hitch work with the Borla exhaust?
It certainly looks better than the mopar hitch, imo.

I don't think so, the hitch needs to fit in between the resonators.
dswduke 06-06-2010, 11:05 AM Has anyone tried the curt hitch with the 1 1/4 - 2" adapter? I like the looks of the curt hitch but will need the 2" adapter for my bike rack.
spiker01 06-06-2010, 02:47 PM just got my curt hitch last week. $110 total, shipped. it was an easy install and without the draw bar in, you would not even know i have one. i tow a 13ft fiberglass trillium rv trailer.

I've tried a 10" and it won't work. Still not enough clearance on the rear bumper. I got to find an adaptor that has a longer 1 1/4 stock piece. Or fab one up with the one I already have.
Mdavis1722 06-21-2010, 06:32 AM What do you all think about towing with Bwoody springs and end links? Do you think it would be a problem?
What do you all think about towing with Bwoody springs and end links? Do you think it would be a problem?
Depends on your tongue weight and how much you bottom out without a trailer hooked up. The links have no impact on towing.
wooleybulley 06-21-2010, 11:47 AM i have this same hitch and a B&B exhaust system and when i hit large bumps on the road or hit potholes the exhaust shifts in the rubber mount and bangs off the hitch on the chain eyes, anyone else have this problem? I took my hitch off after 2 days because i couldnt stand the thud sound it made

That's why you should only use the stock exhaust with the Curt hitch. I give you points for trying though.
wooleybulley 06-21-2010, 11:00 PM um thanx for the advice, but i haven't seen anywhere that it says this about this hitch untill i found it out for myself.

Well then you didn't do enough research on this site because I have been saying it since 2008.

HoustonSRT-8 07-21-2010, 05:52 PM So does anyone know for certain whether or not this will clear the Borla S exhaust? What about the Mopar hitch? It looks like there is enough room between the tips and bumper, but I'm concerned about room behind the bumper.

The Mopar hitch will work with the Borla. You will need to modify the Curt hitch and it will probably bang when going over bumps.
HoustonSRT-8 07-21-2010, 06:01 PM When you say modifying the Curt hitch, are you refering to cutting off the chain eyes on the hitch? If have no problem doing that as I only want to carry a bicycle rack. Are you saying it will still bang over bumps after cutting these eyelets?

Yes, if the Borla is connected between the tips you will have issues. The Curt hitch has a shaft the needs to get mounted between the exhaust. The stock exhaust is not connected in between. Look at the pics below

Because the one pic is of the Mopar hitch. I was showing you how the Curt hitch would not fit in-between the exhaust. The other pic is the shaft of the Curt hitch
HoustonSRT-8 07-21-2010, 07:11 PM Oh, ok. I thought both of your pics were the Curt.
