well,

I know it can't be from my window tints because this stopped working well after i had my to front windows done... My windsheirld is not tinted..

now my auto high beam will go on down a dark road and does not shut off for on comin traffic... taking it into service again... they still need to fix my scartched rim and scratched caliper that they caused!!

I wish these dealers had real srt techs to work on our cars and not those @sshole's that are used to working on any old jeep and giving it a rush job, srt's are finished with fine detail and the only thing they know how to do it ***c that detail up...

I have the same issue with my auto beams. I just turned it off for now, and will wait for a fix.

Same here. The auto function is terrible on country roads ... must have blinded a dozen farmers before giving up on it

It's odd. It worked great for me for a month or so. And my wife drives a Commander, and her's still works perfectly fine, but her's isn't quite a month old yet, so we'll wait and see.

I tried mine for about a day and when I realized that it stayed on for about 3 seconds longer than I thought appropriate, I disengaged it. The last thing I want to do is blind somebody on a dark, windy and maybe wet road.

I always have my smartbeams running and they've been working well for a year. When rounding a corner and someone's headlights appear, the delay before my highs are shut off is about one second, which is a bit long but nobody has ever flashed me because of it. It would be nice if it were closer to a half second.

If you're getting a 3 second delay it sounds like you have a problem, maybe the camera is mistuned. I'd ask your dealer to swap out the module for testing.

I've noticed mine start gradually dimming immediatly but the actual hi-beam indicator doesn't go out for a second or so. it's easy to notice the effect on a country road full of trees off to the side, you can see the brights fade away well before the indicator actually goes off.

Well guy's here is an update on my auto beams..

Took my car to the dealer 5 times this month. still have not fixed it. I live in MI so they had to ship my car off to a place that had a dark room that they use to sync the high beam low beam using lasers of some sort. The box mounted behing our review mirror controls sense wipers high beam auto ect.. they had to reprogram and after I got it back the auto light button on my mirror would not stop flashing and now nothing functions. I took it back in and now they can't get it to work again.. So they are replacing the mirror unit with the new 07 mirror for free which will cost my dealer 700 bucks.. so I hope it will work right after they replace it. They have it on order so I will let you guys know as soon as they pop it in my car.

My lights have been doing the same as everyone elses around here has been doing. They should treat this as a TSB. if you guys care to take ur car in and out of service, after you show them they cannot fix it, they should replace it for you too for free. I took my tech out at night to show him in person because those jackass's don't always check things.

So far so good with mine. It will even come on when travelling on a semi-lit divided multi-lane highway late at night and when another vehicle on the other side of the highway rounds a corner they turn right off, even though he is 50 feet to my left and still far away. Crossing my fingers this reply won't spoil that.

Mine is adjusted so that it will dim for a street sign.

For example, driving out county this past weekend, down a fully dark two lane road, the lights dimmed for a yellow "soft shoulder" sign, then brightened up just past.

Did yours do this when new?

Wierd - mine has always worked really well - it changes quicker than I can get to it. I still try to change manually out of years of habit and usually I put it back on high beam because the unit has already changed it!

Maybe its only the RED Rocks that work well!

Mine do the exact opposite...8x's out of 10 they won't turn on when needed but are on the money when there's an on coming light.

Mine worked great for the first 6 months, then nothing. Won't work at all. I now have the feature turned off. I never liked the feature anyway.

My SRT is a couple months old and just turned about 6000 on it. My SmartBeams never worked. I was really excited to see these, but I got nothing. Had to the dealer once and they "Reset Computer." Yea, that'l do it.
Help me out, there are 2 settings: "High/low beam" and then I think it is "low beam." Which one do I use to make them work? It would be nice if they worked, but I am frustrated at neat technology that nobody can fix. Then they replace it and all heII breaks loose.

Set it to automatic "high/low" beam in the EVIC. The auto "low" setting is for when it gets dark out, or the sun is very low in the sky. Then, be sure your lights are turned all the on to the final setting. Should work.

Yea, I got nothing. They don't work. I may just put HIDs in it so I am not too concerned.

For you guys that have functioning auto high beams, is the high beam as bright when it's turned on automatically as it is when you hit the switch? Most of the time my beams are brighter if I hit the manual switch.

The brightness should be the same regardless of manual or auto.

^ What he said.

Only time the high beam will dim is when you are first approaching a vehicle from far off in the distance. You will begin to see the high beam dim until it switches back to low beam. It will not do this, however, if you crest a hil or come around a corner and a car is right there. It will simply switch over to low beam.
