I will be. Not sure if I'll do the first wave, or wait 6 months, but I will be doing it if the exterior still looks great.

I'll keep the GC, but go for a Challenger with that set up.

Why? At least by you having bought the 06, the timing to get rid of the vehicle is up to you.

Just curious really. Also, I plan on holding to mine past 09', so trying to get an idea on how many of you will be blowing past me come summer of 09

:( :( :(

Or, if the 500hp 6.4 ain't going to cut it, perhaps it will be time to upgrade to an '08 Viper with factory add ons that result in 675 hp. Either way, good times ahead!

I keep daydreaming about driving that new Viper on a road course.

At least that means I won't have to upgrade the GC!

Personally, I think it's rediculous to trade in for an 09'. The 2010 model will be a completely new body design, 09' is the last year for this current body. The 2010 truck will be completely new from the ground up. That's the one I'll be going for.

I NEVER look back on vehicle purchases. There is always going to be something newer, better, faster.

The Challenger is going to be sweet. A 6.4L 6 speed convertible will do the trick.

By then, my 300C will be getting tired. Perhaps someone will find a reasonable way to get the 6 speed into the 4 door LX's. That would be fun.

This could screw up '08 sales.

this reminds of the "soft dash" and the "kicker sound system" that was supposed to show up on the '07s

Lets see what happens, my .02

In terms of getting blown away by the new 6.4s, 500 isnt that far from 425.

Heads/cam/intake/exhaust and you are pushing 500 hp as well.

Dont get me wrong, i started planning today when I heard as well, but is is still a long time away. enjoy your jeeps.;)

The soft dash was postponed at the last minute. As for Kicker, is the '07 model year over yet? The original schedule for Kicker was "late availability" and I know for a fact that Kicker systems have been built and tested for the Grand Cherokee. What the hold up is I do not know. There are always changes with "little" options so it's hard to always predict them with 100% accuracy. Just look at how many of the predicted features were right on, all but the two you mentioned.

As for the 6.4L, it's coming for 100% certainty, I have SEEN proof. Right now, as far as Jeep goes, it is on the schedule for the 2009 model year, that of course could change to 2010. This is the same exact engine going into the Challenger SRT8.

I want one, but I hope they keep the price close to the ours. My trade-in value will also determine my plans, the upgrade in hp will more than likely hurt us on trade-in.

I'll get one, but will enjoy my 07 for atleast 3+ years first.

I'll probably hang onto mine until that 6.4 comes out then pick up an '09 with "Significant Freshening" (http://www.motortrend.com/future/spied_vehicles/112_2009fvf/chrysler_ford_hummer_jaguar_jeep.html) whatever that may be...

I will probably opt for the 6.4L in '09 if they don't change the body style. I'd love to get the Chalenger or maybe even a Viper but it wouldn't be practicle considering I have a 4 yr old and my wife and I are planning on more kids. However, by then my wife's Ram will be paid off so if I dump the '07 for the '09 I can still afford the Chalenger or the Viper as a third car!

Someone metioned getting hurt on trade-in because of engine upgrade. Trading your SRT8 wouldn't be a good move anyway. If you keep it in good condition and keep the miles low you'll sell it for more than what any Dealer would give you. I would imagine there would be a good market of buyers who can't afford an SRT8 now that would be looking to pick one up for less a couple years down the road. I've always sold my cars instead of trading, with the exception of my 5.9 Limited.
