Here is the 8.8 rear end that answers our needs:
* Limited slip differential, option of clutch type or upgrade to the True-Trac.
* All brackets re-welded for strength and they look good as well.
* Powder coating on the complete assembly.:)
* EASY couple of hour install in your driveway, not like the unfriendly 9" Ford.
* Factory 3.73:1 ratio, not like the 9" Ford that has 3.70:1
* Factory gears used and they are about as quiet as your stocker, not like the noisy 9" Ford that does not have factory gears sets available.
* Uses factory driveshaft or optional 1,000 hp driveshaft that is guaranteed for 2 years.
* Upgraded 1,000 hp axles are optional. The supplied axles are rated to 600 rwhp. The upgraded axles are guaranteed for 2 years.
* Beautiful aluminum girdle style rear diff cover available.

Sorry about the chitty web site screen shots.....

How weak actually is the stock rear end and why can a locker be put in it? Just curious? I haven't heard of anyone breaking the rear end personally yet. Maybe they are in the LX cars, but I don't frequent their boards much. Hey Bill...... you gonna come down to Jax., Fl. for a visit sometime soon?:D

Actually the cost of the 8.8 with the upgraded 1000hp axles is right on par with the fully-optioned 9".

The problem is that the 9" is a POS, even though I doubt I'll ever break it.

Actually, there are a number of old threads where guys were snapping the pinions out of the rear diffs.
That's when a number of us went with the 9" Fords.

Hey Bill,

Any weight benefits with the upgraded driveshaft?

And if you had the upgraded transmission and transfer case and added the new axle and driveshaft would you break something with drag radials? Just thinking ahead (way ahead!)

Real nice to meet ya today btw!

Hey Joe,
A pleasure meeting up and taking that beast for a spin!

The High Torque Capacity driveshaft should be mandatory with an upgraded rear axle.
Our stock driveshaft is light weight aluminum and will twist into a pretzel.
Actually, I have been using the stock driveshaft for the last couple of thousand miles and see NO difference in fuel economy.
I would have thought the light weight aluminum rotating mass would have an edge over a steel driveshaft. Probably immeasurable though.
Even with a High Torque Capacity Driveshaft, a driveshaft loop should be used.
I will put a 2 year guarantee on the High Torque Capacity driveshaft at any power level.

Even with Drag Radials....My High Torque Capacity driveline (Axles, tranny, transfer case, driveshaft) come with a guarantee.

Again Joe....a real pleasure today!:)
Bill
