Hey guys

I have an 06 with 16000 miles as of today

About 6 weeks ago I noticed the pool of red fluid under the car and took it in to have the leaky o-ring replaced.

Since then I have noticed that the car feels slightly "off"

It doesnt feel as crisp as it did before and the shifts are nowhere as sharp. It seems to bog in gear and doesnt accelerate as fast as before.

I also noticed that at 100mph(on a track) and up there is a rhythmic vibration through the whole car. The frequency is about 1 cycle per second.

When I hit it off a light the rear tires spin for a second. This is with TC on. They did not used to do this.

I took it to the dealer and they found nothing wrong.

On my end, I do not drive the car hard, but have about 5k since last oil change. I have not changed the diff/tcase fluids as the A service interval did not call for it yet. Do you guys have any suggestions. Thanks in advance

They either did not fill the tranny fluid back up, your transfer case is shot or your rear end is shot

How do you check the tranny fluid since they made it so easy for us?

what would point to diff/tc issues

it amazes me how they say "it is running how it is supposed to" I think it feels like it is struggling a little

i bought that dipstick and am unable to use it. it's too long for our application, it seems, doesn't go all the way in, and doesn't give an accurate readout due to the readout tip scavenging x-mission fluid off the sides of the walls of the long tube. or maybe i'm doing something wrong?

Check your work order and see if they did a software update. It seems like mine felt a little slower after this was done to mine. I dont track it so i dont have any numbers to go by but it seems a little slower now. i have an 06 w/15k

mmmhhh...Like what Wade said, the trans might not have been properly filled to the correct level. Also, they might be able to do a "quick learn" on the TCM. It helps the module "re-learn" how to shift.

Are you on the stock tune..if so try resetting the adaptives and drive it hard and see if responds better!

Car is bone stock, including tune. I did have the PCM flash done at the dealer back in 07. I ll run it tomorrow to see if it automatically up****s out of first, that will tell me if it went back to the old program, if this is possible.

How do i check if they fluid was filled properly?
How can I reset adaptives and do a TCM "re-learn"?

thanks for your help guys.

With that dipstick it is easiest to use after the vehicle has set for a couple of hours and the fluid has all run down the tube.

AJ posted up that the newest version is much more like the Mercedes version,
EASIER TO READ.

The dipsticks are long as hell as you noted.

You can reset the transmission adaptives with a Predator or have the dealer do it.

Call the dealer back & explain your problems & ask if they can recheck the fluid, should be a no charge if its a come back!
