Well just wondering, i know the SRT8 sits way low in the front but do you think the front bumper will still clear the avg sized curb? like pulling into parking spots and such? or will it scrape, is it ok going into driveways and such or what not? anyone scrape? Im affraid my dad would scrape up the front end. is it lower then say most sports cars? corvettes? thanks!

I have curbed my gc srt8 2 times...
can't notice a thing being it's way under the bumper on the little raised fin.
I used the dealer touch up paint and looks fine. if you have the black color you won't even need touch up paint because the base of the bumper is black in color...
It will happen to yours, when you pull up at a parking spot or driving up or down a steep drive way.

Is really low. It is lower than most curbs. Here are some pointers:
1. Angling in to any driveway.
2. Backing in to most parking spots
3. If heading in to a parking place, not pulling all of the way in.
I have found that the parking stops do not really cause the problems. It's when the rebar that is used to fasten them to the pavement is not driven far enough down (to make it flush or countersunk with the concrete stop), it catches on the lower lip of the front valence.
I am assuming that ours will have to be repainted at 12 months.

My wife caught ours on the carriage bolt locking down the parking stop. When we backed out I heard a pop and went to investigate and found the spoiler pulled out and up level with the bumper. Grrrrrrr.... Later when we got home I noticed that the pop I'd heard was all the plastic rivets holding the spoiler had popped out. After a kick dash back to the parking area, I managed to find all the plastic fastners. Only one had been run over. I'm sure we'll have to replace eventually. For now there is only a slight warp where the lip of the bolt caught the spoiler.
I'd sure avoid pulling all the way up to a parking stop. Your sure to eventually catch..... let alone scratch.

Ours?? Thought it was "hers"? :D

That's what tilt reverse mirrors and backup cam is for. I wonder if you could get a 2nd backup cam and switch between the 2? Then you could have one for the front fascia.

I've scraped mine too many times. Just about every parking block means trouble in my area. I've often wondered if the sensors we have on the rear bumper could have been utilized on the front spoiler. As long as you don't catch it on anything as some have mentioned already you'll only scrape the bottom and it won't be that noticable.

She's now a happy owner of a new Mazda 6. Mostly, so she doesn't get yelled at for messing up our baby :D

I've caught my front fascia on a curb once too. It bent the drivers side bottom support brace. My dad is skilled enough to have fixed it perfectly. I'm now much more cautious about pulling into a spot, I've taken to backing in whenever possible and convienient. I wish we did have a front camera to turn on, that would make things a lot easier.

My wife has the 2006 Commander. It has the Mopar aftermarket backup camera. It remember switching it on manually while towing our seadoo. It can be switched on while driving. An option if somone wanted to install it on the front spoiler.
I would like to see someone attempt to install the backup sensors on the front spoiler. That would be a clean setup with no camera needed.
Cheers.
Kinda of related.... on my 04 expedition, I had a camera mounted in the rear passenger wheel well, for parallel parking aid. My screen was set up to do a split screen between that cam and the backup cam. I did zero of the install so I don't know the technical aspects but yes.... it can be done.
My girl caught a front wheel on the curb. Accidents happen I guess, expensive ones but what can you do.

yeah it's always an issue for me... if a driveway has a little too much of an angle it scrapes. and all these F***ed up street pavements around construction sights have defenately left their marks! but oh well... once it gets worse i'll get it taken care of.
Don't let this care you though most of the scratches are not visible =)
