so my truck wont unlock with either remote or when sticking the key in the door?? no doors open. It was making the lock/unlock sound at first (but wasnt actually unlocking) but now it isnt anymore. panic or remote start do not work either.. on either key. I would have thought battery but it would still unlock with sticking the key in without the battery,, help!!!

makes no sense that you can't unlock it with the key, the door lock cylinders are not electronically controlled. if you haven't used the key in a long time maybe you need to play with it a bit.

plan B: jimmy the door and try the ignition, the ignition computer should detect the chip inside the key and not trip the alarm.

if the battery is good, maybe a good hard power reset will help, who knows with the computers and all.. disconnect the negative battery terminal, turn on all lights inside and out, etc, give it a good hour to discharge, then reconnect and try the key again.

how cold is it where you are?

the lights wont turn on at all.. i have someone on the way to try to give me a jump to see if thats it, its only -15C (5F) here so that shouldnt be a problem it was that cold for about a month now.

my battery drained overnite, no lights on or anything weird???
we had it hooked up for about 2 minutes with the key in the ignition and then the dash lights turned on inside, remote started working, it would turn over very slow i had to blip the throttle to get it to start.. im just gonna run it for about 30 mins

hopefully it's nothing more serious than the battery

just saw your post - cool.

if the battery is a couple of years old maybe it's time for a new one.

i have been having "dead battery" issues the past couple weeks now and was able to attribute it to the "power outlet". had my wideband plugged in, and even tho i didn't think it would draw that much current, it was able to drain it enuf over a three day period so that i would need to jump it. have anything plugged in to an "outlet" in the ride?

extreme climates shorten battery life, eh?

I'd get a 1000CA battery they work better in the cold. I'll be switching to a larger CA or a deep cycle battery when mine goes.

Sounds like the battery finally gave out...is it the original battery??....still doesn't make sense that your door wouldn't open manually....but the cold probably played a factor here. Def. Take the battery to an auto parts store or sears and have it checked out.

My battery was starting to drain a little while parked for extended periods of time. Glad to know now that the Dashhawk is a contributing factor.

thanks fellas, i had nothing plugged in, no dashawk or anything. It was parked for less than 20 hours when this happened. Its the original battery, if it happens again ill get er checked out or mabey a stronger battery.
Ive lived here all my live and had a 99 TJ and a 04 Limited with no problems with this ever.
Weird..

seems to be all good now though
