Hey all,

I've recently become really interested in this Cherokee SRT8. I don't know if I'm in the market to buy one at the moment, but I have some questions nonetheless. Hopefully, you all can help inform me. Thanks in advance!

1) I understand there's a new color RED for '07's (or is that for '08?)... How does it compare to the inferno red? Darker? Brighter? More burgandy? For orange?

2) What model year is Jeep selling currently?

3) Can the factory GC roof rack be added to the SRT8? (That might be blasphemous to ask that, but I'm interested in knowing.) If so, what does it entail? Is it a driveway job, or something that requires the dealer to work on?

4) I've seen Cherokees with the lower front and rear vallences done in a charcoal color -- but the brochure I picked up from a dealer shows this area as monochromatic. I prefer the two-tone look. Which is newer? (And, why the change?)

1) RedRock is new for '07, it's more darker/brown/orange to me.
2) '07(most didn't hit floor until 10/06.
3) I believe they can, try a search.
4) '06 has the black color(unpainted) section of the fr/r bumpercover. I feel they now paint the entire bumpercover because it's easier/cheaper & is less likely to peel(some '06's have had peeling issues DCX fixes under warranty, I'm still waiting for the ok from DCX). I also prefer the 2T look, I'm sure a good bodyshop could paint the sections of the lower bumper on an '07 for you.

#3 Yes you can install the GC roofrack. I think it was the one for the Overland. Anyway, search and there's at least one recent thread.
#4 I like the monochromatic look '07 better myself, but to each his own. ;)
