So last night while driving on the freeway from Pasadena to LA i ran in to some trouble... The car in front of me like 3-4 seconds away runs over a piece of metal making the metal come closer to my car... Trying to not run over it i try to swerve away from it. Made a hard left but wasn't enough.... I clipped it making the metal piece fly up and hit my car... I got out to see where i got hit to find out i got F**ked.... What are the oddes of that happening... Right in the middle... Come on!!!!!!!

Hey man your best bet is going to be a whole new door skin for that rear door.. Thats pretty bad... I'd just clame it on my insurance if i were you.. Now they are gonna have to blend pretty much that whole side of the jeep and try to match the factory orange peel.. GL bro..

if you go they cheap way (no door skin) you will always notice it.. Also go to a good body shop and make SURE they check the door lines before they mount the new skin so it matches the factory lines....

I dont think i will be doing a cheapo job on it so i am just looking around.. Oh by the way when i bought the srt i got warranty for the paint will i be able to use that??? Not really sure how it works cause i was in a hurry to take the beast home... LOL...

Jpeyatt

No the warranty will not cover that... The paint warranty was if the paint started chipping/flaking with no visual damage...

They will heat the door up and pull that out, it doesnt look that bad. Plus when they paint the door they only need to paint the lower part of both doors. No need for a full repaint.

How do you expect them to match the factory paint and orange peel?? They have to blend it... And for them to heat it up and pull it out, I'd just go with a new door shell.. That will always be a weak spot if they heat it.. If thats the case why not just fill it with BONDO and mold it back in.........

Ok maybe ur right about painting just the lower part.. My appoligies.. But, where is this heating it up coming from?? Never heard of that... And why heat it up on a car like this?? Hey if thats the case we'd just go back to the bondo idea... Vtw bro if they do decide to "heat it up and pull it out" make sure they pull your side moldings off and dont just mask them off... GL

Flying objects is under comprehensive. Comp claims dont raise rates. Check with your company to be sure though

Any good body tech can pull that out without much problem (unless the pic does not represent the true damage). No need for a door skin and definately no need for a entire door shell!!! I love reading what some people say on these forums. As for the paint match- a color blind painter can match that black and even if he can't- you'll never notice it due to the location of the damage. They are painting the front and rear doors below the body side molding and the those spots don't directly run into the fender or quarter so no need to blend into those panels. It's a really basic and easy repair for most any decent body tech. Good luck.
