Does anyone know if it is possible to replace the ugly plastic door entry guards with something else? something with an SRT-8 logo?

Mine actually came with SRT (stainless) sill plates on the front doors, and nothing on the rear. Or are you talking about the door molding like what is pictured below, in my sig?

I think he is talking about the SRT stainless sill plates that he wouldn't have if his Jeep is a later 2007. They stopped puting them on - apparantly for cost cutting.

All he gets to stare at are the grey plastic ones above where the SRT ones are supposed to be.

PSUBALL1 - you can buy Grand Cherokee ones from Mopar for about $100. Not as nice as the SRT ones IMO, but better than just a painted rocker panel with no protection.

yup, the sill plates when you open the door. they are a plain gray plastic with no name attached to them at all. I really want them to say SRT. I read somewhere that it is possible to get lighted ones, does anyone know if this is true?

i plan on going to the dealership today to see if they have anything that i can look at.

I've never seen lighted ones anywhere for sale (especially not lighted SRT sill plates).

My '06 came with only 1 on the passenger side. I complained and they gave me a set. I will try to remember to post the part number.

They saw me coming a mile away. As soon as they saw who they were building it for. But thats ok. At least I can start my truck from across the street. All other missing pieces will come in due course. Some unsuspecting 2006 owner will leave their truck unlocked someday soon...

basically some GC have the sill plates and some GC don't. Mine was alos missing the passanger seat and windshield wipers.

I just got the SRT8 yesterday and now reading this thread I had to go outside and check mine.I have the stainless with the SRT stamp.For what it's worth my build date is Nov 06.I have every option available if that makes any difference.

I have every option also but missed out on the SRT badge. I went to the dealership to see if I could order a set and they could not find it in their system.

Hmm, mine is a Nov. build as well and has them.

Figures, they got rid of them to save on cost and probably offer them as a dealer part.

The 06 light covers are still in production (they just don't come on the vehicle anymore) and are like $7/piece at the parts counter.

I know they are not a vendor, but I have found http://www.newmoparparts.com/ to be very helpful on these types of parts.

I can e mail them a question in their messaging system and they get right back to me with pricing and availability.

The headlight covers were $5.20 from them.

I took delivery in November '06 and mine came with the stainless SRT plates. I can't imagine anyone should have to buy these ... they are part of the package.

The dealer in San Diego just got me a set SRT sill plates for $81.00.

I contacted my dealer and they may be able to locate the entry guards. In order to do so, I am going to need some one who has them already installed on the truck from the factory to provide me with the last 6 numbers of the VIN. If my dealer can get them I will let everyone know the price and details.

See the pic in earlier post in this thread from Driheat. The covers protect the top of the headlight (must open hood) and provides a cleaner look.

Good luck to everyone as it was quite the process getting these for my truck. I had the help of SayWhat so thanks to him. I passed this number on to someone else and they were able to order it and received them, but he said there was only 1 on hand in the warehouse at the time. I have no idea why these are such a secret but we all should have them.

I had to pay - they list for $97.87 and some have got them for about $80ish.
