please dont bash me ....im lookin in to buy a Srt8 form my WIFE she really likes this truck as well as i do.

1. how much should i pay for an leaved over 06 about.
2. should i get an 07 for any manufacture fixes
3. if we buy it is there suspension kits out there for it .it sits a little high for my taste..
4. this truck would be a daily driver has there bin any mager poroblems with them..

This would be here truck that i drive sometimes....thats if she lets me..lol
cause i own a 02 ford f150 harley and she only drove it once....so she may not let me drive her truck ....

2. No. Any problems with the 06 you have the TSB's.
3. No kits yet.
4. There is a tranny shifting problem, but its more or less a pain in the ass. There has been a TSB issued for that.

Several owners got there '06 SRT8's in summer of '06 for ~$40K. I'd say a used '06 would be ~$35-38K. '07 ~$38K+.

#2 : No real major problems, the TSB for the shifting was more for those who are wanting more performance/harder accell(which is a good thing). I haven't got the TSB yet & my '06 drives just fine, but I would like harder shifts & better downshifting, which the TSB addresses.

#3 : The GC SRT8 has only 6-7" of ground clearance, lowering it will make for some interesting curb encounters. I actually would like to be able to raise mine a bit.

#4 : Mine is a DD, the only problem you will have is once the wife goes out for a drive... she may never want to come back! :D

well i guess they are low enought ...she proble kill the front bumper anyway...

Our GC SRT8 is my wife's daily driver. She loves driving it every day. Look up other posts for the negatives. There are some, but nothing significant.

I would not consider lowering the vehicle further if it is for daily driving purposes. It would be just a matter of time before the front end is whacked pretty hard.

Based upon my conclusions, I believe that while the 2006's have some TSB's to address (and not that many mind you), the 2007's have inferior build quality. The factory has stopped and started production at the plant at least once, if not twice during the 2007 model run. Build quality will suffer, no doubt, under those circumstances.

I traded in my 2003 Harley F-150 for the Jeep. She will still be faster if you haven't done any mods. Make sure you get properly dyno'd. Those engines love to detonate, I know from experience. I still check out www.nhtoc.com monthly.
