: newb here, not to jeeps
Saleen4971 12-09-2008, 05:10 PM hey guys, jsut joined up here tonight. i have been over on JU for years.
i have a 98 5.9 grand. mostly stock right now. modded intake manfiold, full exhaust, and soon a 150 shot. some suspension work (WJ front LCA's, addco military front sway, hellwig rear sway, edelbrock shocks, H&R springs) and EBC greenstuff pads w/ drilled rotors.
anyways, figured i woudl hang out over here and learn as much as i can since there arent many SRT8 owners over on JU.
ahhh almsot forgot - my jeep used to have a few more mods :)
52mmTB, XVI airhat, eddy heads, 210X cam, extrude honed M1, RR's, trunk mount battery, and a couple other little things. ran a 13.5@100.5mph at englishtown, with a mopar performance PCM (manually shifting every gear at 5800-5900rpm) and a stock trans/converter that was far from suited to a high RPM combo like mine :)
squigmang 12-09-2008, 05:13 PM welcome man, your gonna wanan trade that thingif you hang around here too much!!
Saleen4971 12-09-2008, 05:17 PM thanks man. lucky for me, im an unemployed college student, so spending money on an SRT isnt in the budget :(
eventually i will. i keep telling my GF that an SRT8 will be her soccer mom ride :)

srm077 12-10-2008, 07:23 AM Nice 'Niner- that's the color I should have got, I have a built 'Niner too. I turned mine into a nice off road rig when I purchased my SRT 8. Welcome and go test drive a SRT 8- You'll make a deal with the Devil to get one after the test drive. TOTALLY different animal than the 'Niner.
Shot with the RE 4 3.5 kit and 32's

veyronSRT8@TTCreations 12-10-2008, 11:31 AM welcome man, your gonna wanan trade that thingif you hang around here too much!!
................................+1. and welcome to the forum...i have owned nothing but Jeeps since I could drive. had my eye on that 98' 5.9L but had a platinum silver 97' with the 5.2L instead and couldn't justify the trade in considering the 98' was used (low mileage). did you ever have overheating issues with it when it was stock?
Saleen4971 12-10-2008, 11:33 AM nope, not a single overheating issue when it was stock, or H/C/I. but now that the motor is back to stock, i DO!!
:(
SRT8 4 J 12-10-2008, 11:42 AM Welcome Aboard-always loved the 5-9 Limited's...had a 98 with the 5.2 with some other goodies and I thought that was fast...WELL until I picked up this baby :) Lots of useful knowledge here...well most of the time.

Glad to have you here bro.
I guess I'm one of the few with SRT8s that still post on JU once in a while.
Hey guys the day that Ross ran the 13.5 with his niner was my first time at the track ever, at that time I had the 5.7L, when I saw his niner run that 13.5 and the cars he was racing and beating, I said to myself "someday I'll have a jeep as fast as that", so the rest is history... thanks to this guy, he's the one to blame I'm here today with an SRT and hooked into racing :D :D :D . Thanks Ross
its what we do here, if you want to fit in, ull play by the rules. if not youll be like rick gLOL, bro Ross is nothing like Rick G, he's the total opposite. Ross is a true car guy and knows a lot about mechanics in general, a true gear head. Ross can be a great asset to this forum even thou he doesn't own an SRT "yet".
Ross, you should post the videos of that day at the track with the niner, I want to see the video against the STi and the one with the cutout open.
Ohh and post pics of your current project with the other car too, this guys will enjoy that.
Remember guys... back then there was no SRT8 jeep, so this was one of the fastest jeeps around.
And hell yeah, we got to get you to the track again, definitely want to see the niner running with a 150 shot
Welcome again buddy!
QBNKID 12-10-2008, 08:22 PM :bump:
Where are my buddies...
Common guys, give my friend Ross a welcome.
See my post above this one.
