I just finished installing the Mopar CAI (which by the way was very easy to do) on my 2007 Cherokee and noticed that I am missing two black trim pieces that sit on top of both headlight assemblies under the hood. These pieces mount directly next to the front grill assembly and appear to be held in place wiht the same type of plastic clips. Per the instructions for installing the CAI the piece over the right headlight needed to be removed in order to get the air box out. Has anyone else noticed these pieces missing?

Yes, jayeepee is correct. Chrysler stopped putting them on as part of their cost cutting. $10 part or something.

Its kindof like hunting easter eggs trying to look for all the additions/deletions from one truck to the next. Maybe they did this on purpose as part of the fun of ownership.

my brother and I both got a gc srt8 at the same time.. mine is silver and his is black 06. I had my headlight trims and he didn't... I think it's a very stupid move.. it looks much cleaner with the trim. the worst thing they ever did was remove the under hood light...

and what do you think of the newer 07 without the top piece of windshield molding. That had to save them 5 bucks.

Only VERY early 2006 builds have them, I was 1 of 50 first in NY to get my SRT8 so I have them.

bought mine in June of 06 it has them.
