on the other note thanks for being cool with this topic guys. Just should be fun to watch. I hook fine on the mickey thompson drag radials and my 60 foot times are in the mid 1.6s and I hook just as hard on the street as the track. Yah and I have vht also which you guys won't need with awd at all.

When is the GTG I might be able to make it. I am in southern CA but I will not be ready until the stand alone and built tranny are ready. Shooting for end of this month beginning of Feb. I can pitch in for the rental of the track just let me know when and where.

i'm in So Cal also.. depending on time and distance i'd wanna join and pitch in some $.. never been to the track b4. this'll be a good 1st time i guess :D

I'm not really up on street racing educate, I just figured since $500 was being mentioned it would only be fair to know what you're up against given the large number of mods available for the TBSS. Since his original post seemed pretty bold I assumed he had some decent mods and I was mostly just curious. Acctually I think Norcal SS has a great idea and I'm glad he included the SRT community. It sounds like a lot of fun and I hope someone gets some video. I'm getting kind of tired of the whole rivalry thing anyway. American muscle is American muscle as far as I'm concerened. :D ;)

If someone races me out here and beats me ill list "ALL" my mods even the ones I didnt mention before, and dont worry i wont ask the owner who beats me for his mods because i dont really care.

I say someone with a 7.0L jumps on this race...or we could get the GSM guys' jeep, they're in so cal...i call $100 fee for setting it up

I raced a srt8 jeep with that set up up here in san jose and beat him 4 times, off a roll and off the line. I run 275 40 17 drag rads and he also ran the jug off the line. He hooked also and i still pulled him. But if i was on stock tires i could have kissed that nice launch good by.

The mods he has spoken about so far on this site are:
"I have the magnacharger ready to go in along with a few other mods ive put on the truck. There is a new nitrous kit that will be out that fits under the magnacharger which ill be using also prob just a 50 to 75 shot."

Also, Stainless Works headers, custom 3" duals y'd to a single in/out Magnaflow mufler with 3" exit. Plus, 14 bolt rear end with 4.10 gears and Posi.

Much to your surprise most GC SRT8 owners are fairly intelligent. No doubt your ranting that "No Jeep SRT8 owner will race me" strokes your fragile ego. It's a given that a stock, the GC SRT8 is considerably faster & quicker than a stock TBSS. It's also a given that anyone willing to spend a lot of money & sacrifice the utility of their vehicle can build a vehicle faster than another stock one. Case in point; there are mid 80's Dodge Caravan's running in the low 10's, and Honda's in the 9's, impressive ... but who cares? A really fast turd still stinks.
Adding a S/C, Nitrous, a high stall converter and whatever else you've done to your TBSS shows an aggressive commitment to performance, I congratulate you for that. But your "Run what you brung" mantra on the other hand is utter foolishness. A reluctance to share your mods guarantees that only a moron will take you up on your "offer".
I'll be happy to race you for $500 if you ever get to Alabama, or anywhere in the SE US. Then in the spirit of "Run what you brung" your so fond of I know you'd want to race your TBSS in a second race against another of my vehicles for $5,000. I know how important being secretive "cloak & dagger" about mods so I'll tell you only that like your TBSS it'll be towed in.
Oh, and while I won't go into any of the TBSS forums and make a big deal about having a faster car since I have no ego/self esteem issues, you can pass it on, my offer goes for any TBSS owners in the SE as well.

I street race a lot and also race my boat. I have yet have people ask what's in there. heads up racing.

also I put the mods up from the srt8 I raced in san jose which would give people a hint. If I raced for fun no prob I'd tell people what I had but for money its different. Yah we can meet up this weekend ill be free sunday.

I'm also working on the 511 inch small block combo. I have new heads I'm just waiting for the LSX block to come out. oh and ill be changing the blower to the new mp122 from magnacharger which can put over 15 psi boost. The 408 combo won't work with what I want to do and power levels I want.

Norcal, you got some nice toys bro. I love the drop on the trailblazer. I'd love to see that thing run sometime, but I'm up in Mass. I've only seen one SS in the area about 5 months ago. Wish there were more srts and ss's around here. :)

The initial post that started this thread seemed pretty bold and provoking. After a few posts it seemed to be on the level, race for fun if you want etc. lets just get everyone out. Now I think this whole thing just got out of hand. What sounded like a pretty cool idea to me before now just sounds like a big headache. I love fast rides, mods or not, and I have a great deal of respect for those with the knowledge and money to do what they do to theirs. I have no need to race for money, I earn plenty of it every day so my only desire for racing is for the sheer enjoyment and sport of it all. I guess I just don't understand all of the BS between the TBSS guys and us. :confused:

I buy cars to make faster just like my 10.9@133 sti but I still get the same old talk from neon owners saying oh yah I saved 10 grand buying a srt4. I allways thought yah screw those guys until a guy raced me when I was running high 11s and beat me and I was like gt40 kit time. I look back on it now I would still never buy a srt4 over a sti. I don't have money like you guys to spend 45k out the door on a srt8 then go mod it up then again the truck is under my wifes name so if I get caught strret racing it won't get taken away. way she put it tony if u r spending 45k on a jeep just buy a vett.

we won't see eye to eye on this I know but I also know that there are tons of members on here that have mooded their trucks and they rip.

so I'm just gonna get back on topic. Keep it at trailblazer ss vs srt8 with mods. I know someone on here has to be in the mid to low 11s. I think the gms supercharger kit is also pushing over 600 to the wheels???

Hey NORCAL, Chill a bit. As far as I know there is no low 11's SRT8 JEEP at this time, be patient it will happen, someone will go balls to the walls. The GSM S/C has fuel delivery flaws that has toasted some motors. GSM and other S/C companies are working on that as well as tuning issues. Hell, if you where closer I would be more than happy to play for fun,win or lose, just to see what you got.

Appayipyip, how can you act like your truck is so much better than a TBSS. Your trucks do have some superior parts on them, but you have to pay a premium to get them. Fact: Your trucks cost more. They run a little faster, not 1-2 seconds faster, but a few tenths faster. So now don't you just compare $ to $. Example being your TC!!! If I take my bone stock truck and put a new TC in it, my truck will run balls to the wall all day long. If your are comparing like that, you still get a better deal with the Trailblazer SS. I know you love your truck, because I own the SS and I also like the SRT8. In fact that will be my next vehicle, so I can say I had both. But you don't have to trash other people because they like their SS over the SRT8. Just be happy and fortunate that you have the truck you really want.

how can you/anyone judge texas' fastest street car? pinks is worthless by the way, fun to watch but that doesn't mean you have a fast car by any stretch.

i'm not trying to stir the pot, but i really would like to run a tbss with some sort of a known rep around the country if you know of any.

how can you/anyone judge texas' fastest street car? pinks is worthless by the way, fun to watch but that doesn't mean you have a fast car by any stretch.

i'm not trying to stir the pot, but i really would like to run a tbss with some sort of a known rep around the country if you know of any.


they have a texas shoot out actaully many states have it. Fastest street car has to be registered and thats the rule. There is a buy in and winner takes all. Many cars are fast but some cars are only set for the track and we all know a 4500 stall witha transbrake isnt going to win on the street.

so texas had a big shootout with oak. and texas won. Tom heard about this and challenged the texas guy. Went out there and won it from the guy and the pot which was a 25k. Out here we have max of 100 cars but out in texas they have in excess of 200 cars and buy in is 300 bucks. winner takes all. But then its like the top dog you have to put money on the line. he lost the 25k still had money in the bank but the rep is known that he lost so process begins again. new motor upgrades etc to get that race back. Its pretty much like ufc. your the top dog you will get fights, you lose you come back harder

and honestly going around the country in a tbss to get races for 500 bucks is a waste. if i had a fast truck ie 8 seonds on the street then yes worth it but races would be a lot more $$$. 500 bucks is what it will cost just to tow it cross country to race lol

in all honesty, what made you decide to come on a jeep site and call us out??? are you heavily modded...i would hope so; if not this all is somewhat of a waste IMHO. i would be glad to race if you would be willing to meet up somewhere. maybe we could do it at one of the shows i'm at that is close to you??? let me know...thanks

there is no sr8 jeep that wants to race me and loose 500 bucks end of story now the mods can close this thread.Ya know, I'm just going to oblige you on this request. Firstly, because racing belongs on the track, and secondly because this TBSS nonsense has worn my patience thin and you've worn out your welcome.
