Just unscrew it counterclockwise....Very tight fit, but does unscrew. Did mine to cut some off so it is flush with where I rest my arm.

If you still can't get it, wrap it in a wash cloth and use pliars to get it started.

Looks like this isn't going to work...my 2007 SRT GC lock pins don't unscrew...they are part of the lock assembly. I called Jeep/Chrysler to confirm. :-(

I am not doubting that the told you that, but I don't think it's correct. Heck, I had a dealership tell me that the head rests weren't adjustable too, and that if I wanted to move the rears up and down, I'd have to hacksaw them off-- total fabrication. They are adjustable.

Moral? Don't believe everythign dealerships say.

I twisted on them REALLY hard, even used pliers, and they would not come out...they just twist some and when you let go they spring back into the same position. I wish it wasn't so...

I'd pull the door panel then. I've never heard of any auto manufacturer who had the whole assembly made out of plastic, all the way down.

How do you adjust the rears up and down? I have tried and asked the dealer and was told they do not adjust.

You just unscrew them, cut about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch off the bottom with a hacksaw, and screw them back on. Mine have been removed completely when I re-upholstered the doors, otherwise I'd show you a pic.

They are definitely on there VERY tight though. It took me a long time to get them off.

I was asking about the rear head rests.

LOL-- sorry..... flip your seats forward, which will release the headrests forward. You'll see a small vertical notch in the plastic ring around the base of each mounting pole. Insert a flathead screwdriver, or your key into that notch, engaging a spring loaded mechanism. You have to do it on both sides. Terrible design if you ask me.

Thanks. I will try this when I get home.
