I think I found an 08 SRT8 that I want to buy however I just found out it does not have nav (even though it has the mygig). I totally did not know that there are different mygig units ones that have nav and ones that dont. It was a feature I really wanted and understand it can be added however, how do I know if this vehicle is equipped with Uconnect or voice recognition?
The Mygig unit has uconnect and VR buttons but when I pressed them the screen just changes and says "phone". I guess my must have option is the Uconnect so I need to know if this vehicle has that. Nav is something I wanted but that can easily be added (I see tons of them on ebay).
The vehicles vin # is 1J8HR78388C136752 if that helps it also has the rear DVD entertainment.

If you hit the U-Connect button and it said phone then it is equipped with U-Connect you just have to set it up with your phone.

I thought all MyGigs had nav, strange option package with DVD but not nav...Like you said can always add it later

The vehicle was built on 09/08/07 and sold to a woman on 09/27/07 at a Dealership in Chicago ( South Chicago - Dodge Chrysler Jeep ). It was only in for service 2 times both were for the MyGig Radio, service records show that the MyGig/Nav Unit was swapped out each time, the Firmware was updated on 6/19/08. But the option list doesn't show that the vehicle has Nav. But it shows that it has a backup camera, if I remember correctly the Camera came with the Nav. option, I could be wrong on that. The warranty is good until 9/27/10, I would try and get an extended warranty as part of the deal. Looks like a good one. Good Luck.

Only the MyGIG RER navigation radio has integrated UConnect, the MyGIG REN model is UConnect compatible. The rear camera is available in a package without Nav (Opt Group II), which is what you have. In the vehicle you are looking at, UConnect is part of Opt Group I.

The non-nav radios (REN) have the same exact screen, they just come without the Nav software/firmware. They cannot be upgraded to include Nav.

Anyway sure enough the Jeep DOES infact have Uconnect as I already paired my phone to it and the vehicle does have the backup camera. I will be browsing the internet for a nav Mygig unit as nav is something I wanted.
