: Where the hell is a TSB for the 07's ?? Me Vs. TBSS

Ok i'm a little peeved off - We all know 07's don't have the consistent shift issue, but we do have a kickdown problem - Ex. Today i'm coming off a light with a black stock looking tbss behind me - coming off the light at about 20 he hits the gas the same time as me.....Well my sh*t doesnt kickdown at all and there he is right behind me all the way from 20 to about 80 - where we have to slow down for a red light.
I have 6500 miles on the GC with a mopa cai & exhaust and was running a half a tank of 100unleaded. After driving around for a while I realized my kickdown actually comes in at about 25mph, anything below that is a turd that doesnt move. So come 'on DC you built a great beast and now we can't get decent TSB's to get it moving properly with- even the 06's guys seem to be having erratic results with their tsb - I love this car but it pisses me off to be driving a car that feels ""neutered half the time...

The TSB fixed my '06 kickdown problem. I don't see why it wouldn't work for the '07s.

I had the exact same problem yesterday with my 2007, except there was no TBSS there.

I had to do a fair bit of checking with my '07 but did finally find a dead spot around 2800 (i.e. won't kick down just slllooowwwlllly accelerates). That said it is the only dead spot I could find. It's now more or less second nature for me to use the auto stick to down shift when I want to take off ... it's sure nice not having to worry about bumping into a rev limiter

seems like i'll have to pretty much use the autostick untill they get something out for this "deadspot" although it is strange because as you said its only around that speed/rpm range.

I have the same problem with my '07 and use the same solution.

My 07 would not kick down @ highway speeds about 55 to 65 I was having idle problems the rpm's whould go up and down on first start up on cold days from 2 to 4 thousands 2 weeks ago brought in for first oil change they called srt direct got a code and now my rpms seem to be a little higher @ 60 mph but seems to be ok @ idle and kicks down ok I only drove it home from the dealer and now sitting in my garage did not take it out since

Thats interesting Mike. I used my remote start last Friday when I was showing a friend and once it started the idle bounced up and down about a half dozen times before it smoothed out. I just figured it was a one-off and he doesn't know cars well enough so he didn't comment on it. It just took away from that sweet rumble i was hoping to get since we were in an underground parking lot.

I have the same thing going on - you can definitley hear it alot clearer when you have a cat back - its like the car is regulating itself to a proper idle or something of the sort.

I haven't tried all the speeds @ 2800 yet. I assumed it was a programming issue at 2800 ... but it could be specific to one gear I suppose. This will now haunt me till I narrow it down. Good thing I drive on alot of open country roads.

After I had mine reflashed I noticed the aggressive automatic down shifting and upshifting was gone. I reset the PCM/TCM and began driving it doing manual shifting and holding gears longer than "auto" mode. When I braking hard I down shift and if I dont like the gear or anticipate wanting more I manual shifted it. These trans are identical to and used in AMG models. They are adaptive and (I recently have found) record your driving style. Mine was in for a new valve body and all the adaptive parameters and driving style had to be "reset" by the MB mechanic.

Try it...treat it like a 5 speed manual....when you start coming to a turn (or have to quickly slow down in traffic) aggresively down shift as you brake......within a few miles when you brake for a turn the trans will begin to mimic aggressive down shifting. I also manual shift alot and carry the rpms to 3500-4000. I down shift before it has too.....this might be a pain for some but it is actually fun and you will find your tranny will soon behave differently.

They have a fix I was there for about 1 hr but they fixed the problem they said @ first the code would not take then about 20 minutes later they said the code took and told me to call them and let them know it worked and sure enough it's fine now so go to the dealer and tell them you are having that problem Iam sorry they didn't give me any paperwork because my first oil change was free or I would give you the code they used

Thats alright, maybe someone else will be able to get that code info sooner or later, I think i need to go to another dealer also, this one seems to think that just because it drives and there are no cels' than it has to be fine.

That is very interesting if it works. Already planning to play with the Autostick anyway because I have never tested to see if I get an automatic shift before the rev-limiter. It also seems I will need to start to manually shift to beat the next TBSS i see. :D
