: Soon I will bid you all farewell.....
Razorecko 11-21-2008, 05:36 PM Guys, soon will be my time to move on...today I have officially put down a deposit on a Blk/Blk '09 Cts-v w/ the 6spd manual.
The first one on their deposit list to request a manual transmission they're expecting a delivery date at the end of January or the beginning of the new year. Till than I will still be hitting up the forums daily :D...although my mod progress will halt. I was undecided to my next vehicle as it was tied between the c63,cts-v,is-f, GT-R.
Now here is my reasoning for my decision...
GT-R.. Very fast but warranty issues seem like a battle zone, suspension is too stiff for daily driving, no manual trans ( see warranty issues ) ugly as f*ck ( still hasn't grown on me ) priced decently for the performance but maintenance costs and aftermarket parts cost are a joke.
C63..Fast..Interior is kinda plasticy and reminds me of well...DCX. Also its an NA block ( we know how easy those are to mod ;) ) suspension presumably stiff also. Still an auto only
IS-F...looks like a chicks car to me still. Na power. Still no stick. Performance not much better than the jeeps.
...And the Cts-v...The interior is a perfect blend of performance and luxury. The price is riiiiigggghhhhtt. Manual...I actually like driving stick as it doesnt make my daily grind so boring. Not too mention its a dying breed and soon every car will be a dual clutch automatic setup. The magnetic ride suspension will always make it feel like a luxury sedan. Rwd...wont be great in winter and thats why i'm going to buy a beater pick-up truck. The motor itself will be so easily modified that its not even funny.
I've spent alot of miles behind the Jeep srt, roughly about 53k which will probally be around 70k when the cts-v comes in. Time for a change up. Untill than though you'll still see my heinous avatar mug around daily :D
luvr 6.1 11-21-2008, 05:40 PM Good choice of vehicle, good luck!
BlackJeepSRT 11-21-2008, 05:43 PM Supercharged 550 hp/tq? Good choice! :D
Crookster777 11-21-2008, 05:43 PM Keep the Jeep as your beater. :D
Just food for thought.
Grip Grip 11-21-2008, 05:45 PM Good luck with the CTS-V, I'm sure your going to be a very happy camper when you take delivery. :) Drop by every once in a while and let us know how it's running.
Razorecko 11-21-2008, 06:10 PM ^ alot of people are jumping for the auto...I'm really hesitant about all these factory auto's and high hp vehicles. I think it'll be a good few more years before they perfect these auto tranny's to have the same abuse tolerance as the manuals
navyavi469 11-21-2008, 07:22 PM Keep the Jeep, get the CTS-V too!!
Get$$$Man 11-21-2008, 08:00 PM I wish our Jeeps had manual. I love driving manual so much more fun.
aplatero1984 11-21-2008, 08:01 PM damn it Adrian!!!! you can't leave me man!!!!:(
Patrick G 11-21-2008, 08:06 PM Another cool car to keep your eye out for are the AMG65 Mercedes' with the twin turbo V-12s. Originally $190k, they are showing up at the auctions for under $50k. Amazing what kind of power they make with just a tune.
By the way, love the CTS-V. Hope to see you at LS1Tech after you get it.
GodfatherSRT8 11-21-2008, 08:12 PM $190k to 50k? Sure those #'s are right??

Razorecko 11-21-2008, 08:41 PM ^ yeap i saw an 2005 sl65 for like 60k w/ 34k miles on the clock. Depreciation OWNS mercedes. Bmw's not too badly but literally kills all the mercs.
El Puto 11-22-2008, 01:56 AM Congrats on an f'in awesome car:cool:
sy1616 11-22-2008, 05:13 AM well done, enjoy!

The SL convertibles hold their value a little better than the coupes. Those are the ones I've seen below $50k.
Vinnysrt8 11-22-2008, 04:06 PM Keep the Jeep, get the CTS-V too!!

06blackbeast 11-22-2008, 05:13 PM Hey wasnt your first Jeep SRT8 a lemon and then you got a brand new 08 from DCX??? You already have 53K on it!? Are you going to sell your hyperblack wheels?:D
DevssrT 11-22-2008, 05:16 PM Nice choice of car!! Keep the jeep aroudn though buddy!
SRT8 4 J 11-22-2008, 07:47 PM Are you going to sell your hyperblack wheels?:D
Enjoy the new Caddy-I'm sure it will be a blast.....I also was curious about the rims and tires-I'll be second in line if you try to sell them :)
Matt McKenzie 11-23-2008, 03:33 PM Be happy with what you get, enjoy your new ride, but stay the hell on the forums.....you still have a head full of knowledge, and it would be wierd to not see your avatar around Adrian!!!
RockSRT8 11-23-2008, 03:47 PM Agreed, keep the SRT as your DD. Best of luck with the new "beast".
-Rock
Razorecko 11-23-2008, 03:52 PM thanks guys - i have never posted so much in a forum before so it would be hard for me to part permenantly - heck this should be around my 3000th post if i'm not mistaking. Its strange how looking at my jeep it would feel as if i was giving up a kid for adoption -lol. Now I can understand that when alot of sports car/sports u v sell their cars they only want to see them in a fellow enthusiasts hands and not some 18yr old h.s. kid.
( just checked 3001 post )
CTS-Veo 11-24-2008, 07:26 AM Enjoy the new ride when you get it! I'm sure you will love it. I saw a couple posts by you over on the caddy forum, you should really bring your avatar over there... I'll be stickin in the 04-07 V section for a couple more years, but when the 09's start showing up for sale as a pre-owned I will join you in the 09 V section of the forum...
OneBadJeep 11-24-2008, 07:35 AM Good choice, that will be my next car also but I'm shooting for a 2010 V........

oman srt8 11-24-2008, 09:49 AM good choice man ...
Blown-WK 11-24-2008, 10:07 AM Good choice, I'm sure with a pulley swap/tune you wont have any problem surpassing the ZR-1 numbers.

900lbs difference in weight and the upped hp/tq of about 100/50 by the zr1 i'd have to have roughly about 150-200hp increase to run low 11's/high 10's and do low 3's to 60/ same as the zr1..I would actually probally get the Gt-r but they keep pushing back their leasing option..That to me means they are getting greedy in a way. Not too mention I want something in stick...But get this..

the cts-v's are trapping in the 120's  I can't imagine what they'll be going after they break in properly
DRIHEAT 11-24-2008, 10:48 AM Congrats on the Caddy. I love those seats the have, I wish they'd put them in my new ride.
The "stick thing" was the same reason I went from an E55 AMG to the GC SRT8 to now the '08 Vette. I've been a very happy camper since last Feb. And my Jeep went to a very good home.

Razorecko 11-24-2008, 11:41 AM ^ Hey Dri thats a damn sweet vette ! - Yea the whole stick has got to come from my 100% european bloodline -lol. I never even understood why people complained even driving stick in traffic. I actually think it makes it less tiring and boring.
ViperSteve 11-24-2008, 06:56 PM I was looking at the New CTS-V... They want 5k OVER MSRP and the company is about to go down the tubes... I couldn't believe it!! Do you mind me asking if you paid msrp or below!?!
