: Heres the deal
PCHIEF520 01-05-2007, 08:07 PM i put in a order about a month back now for a red srt w/ only the srt option, they said it may take up to two months for it to come in. I have a 04 GC lease that ends on the 28th of Feb, Should i jump the gun and drive down to the dealer with 20'gs in hand and make a offer to buy the silver one with nav that we took for a test drive, or should i wait and get the color i want with out nav!!! i figured i can get a Garmen or Tom/Tom later. what would u do????????? thanks,, Pchief
timster 01-05-2007, 08:55 PM get the one you test drove. The backup camera is a nice option and is only availible with the stock nav unit. Go get it!! :)
MjrCarNut 01-05-2007, 09:32 PM Go get it,, the nav in the dash has better options than the Tom Tom or other portable units,, Blue tooth for phone,, camera,,, and so on + the Silver on the GC Srt8 looks awesome,, lots better than on other cars,,
Get er dooone!! :D Good luck!
saywhat 01-05-2007, 10:08 PM Get It!!! The Nav. is so much better from the factor, and the Blue tooth is cool too!! I have the 2006 Inferno Red and love it th e 2007 Red is just OK! but the Silver looks Good on the road. Good Luck!!!

Absolute no brainer, go for the silver with Nav.
kramsay1234 01-05-2007, 10:48 PM The silver looks outstanding on this truck. Nav is great and don't have to mess around with cords, mounts, etc with the Tom Tom.
Don't walk, run and go get it!

jlandbl 01-06-2007, 07:13 AM Plus the silver is faster!
gculver 01-06-2007, 07:40 AM Not only faster, but silver can have a calming effect on the drivers of vehicles who care to test the jeeps performance. Man, they get pissed at first and then mellow out, must be the silver. Thats my story and I'm stickin to it.:D
Get it and Enjoy!!! Welcome to the Family.
SRedrockT8 01-06-2007, 02:58 PM i'm glad i drove to a local dealer just to take a look at the redrock. all the pictures i've seen online including the jeep website dont do the redrock justice. i love it. jeep did a good job on this paint. changes colors all throughout the day depending on where the sun hits it. but if you want "a dime a dozen" go for the silver.
Godiwant1 01-06-2007, 07:07 PM Ouch!!!!! Wow!!! Careful!!!
OurZoo 01-06-2007, 08:17 PM These trucks are badazz in any color!
MjrCarNut 01-06-2007, 10:45 PM Agreed!!!! :) All the colors Rock!!
but if you want "a dime a dozen" go for the silver.
with only 4000 or so srt8s in the US i dont think thats going to be much of a problem
gculver 01-08-2007, 02:21 PM All the colors are nice, here is a 2006 breakdown on the colors. A dime a dozen theory buster.http://www.wkjeeps.com/wk_srt8_distribution.htm#COLOR

gculver 01-08-2007, 03:40 PM actually before i saw the redrock, silver was my choice but in jest i was just ruffling some feathers. :D
I figured that much, so was I. :D
PsychoSRT8 01-08-2007, 05:40 PM ok personally i don't like silver but the silver on the srt8 is a thing of beauty!!! saw one up close when i was getting an oil change a couple of days ago, i absolutely loved it on the Jeep!!! anyway color aside i thing the nav and rear camera is a must!!so all in all go get what u test drove :D
SRedrockT8 01-08-2007, 06:04 PM this is my first vehicle with a nav system & so far i'm enjoying playing with it. even using it when i already know how to get there. i'm sure the novelty will wear off after a while but it's fun now.
and yes the reverse camera is very nice to have.
PCHIEF520 01-08-2007, 06:44 PM I have not talked to the sales guy yet, but i feel that i should sit and see what happens when i turn in my lease. I saw a 06 red srt today on rt 37 in danbury Ct. i saw a black one this weekend too. thanks for ur input.
PCHIEF520 01-13-2007, 06:55 AM The salesman called me and told me it may be a month loner to have the red jeep delivered. I asked him what kind of deal thay can give me with the silver one i had test drove, he said $1,000 more and they will eat up the difference of the nav. The nav is $1500 bucks, so they are eating up $500 bucks. The total would be $48500 OTD. I found a red one acroos the state, should i ask if they would trade for it? `
timster 01-13-2007, 07:43 AM try negotiating with the dealer accross the state. You may be surprised. If you can get a good deal with them, go for it, and get your deposit back from the other dealership. I guess if that doesn't work, next best thing would be to see if your current dealer will swap for the red one. Good luck
MjrCarNut 01-13-2007, 01:33 PM I know the dealers in Nor. Cal do a dealer locate and do trades for the one you want!! wonder if they would do that for you? but they may have to be some kind of partners..I would call and find out..
Good luck.
maf1960 01-13-2007, 01:38 PM Now that we talkin 'bout colors; silver is for those who do not want to wash/wax that much (lazy). PLUS, it is a documented fact that BLACK IS FASTER - lol
MjrCarNut 01-13-2007, 03:35 PM I was wondering why the black one was faster than the silver/Gray one was on the same lot when I test drove them! Hmmmmm..:D
Plus the silver is faster!
Thats right :D
MjrCarNut 01-13-2007, 05:19 PM Well wait a minute, does that mean the Red and Steel B. is slow?!
