ATTN NJ SRT8 owners and those with the window up/down malfunction:

So I finally had a chance to have some problems adressed at my new dealership (Warnock on rt. 10 for those of you in NJ) yesterday, and I have an actual positive dealership experience to report!!!!! For all of you suffering with the window issue these long months, there is a fix, there was a TSB on my invoice ( #23 - 008 - 06 ) and both of my front window regulators were replaced, the windows now work as they should for the first time ever!

The guys also inspected my squealing brakes but found no problems with them and they performed an oil change with my oil ($20 for filter and labor).
My only concern is with the TCM re-flash which was also performed. The truck is driving great and the redline is more friendly to drive near, as well as the shifts seeming crisper, but the auto-upshift feature seems not to be working. I will speak to the dealer today to confirm that their starscan is updated, but they assured me yesterday that it was. Does anyone have input on this? At what RPMs does the autoshift kick in???
All in all, I have to say Warnock did a great job. Having already left the dealer I bought the truck at for terrible service, I was impressed with the speed and professionalism of the staff at this one. Hope this helps some of you, sorry it took so long.

p.s.- still no black wheels yet (haven't found a good option), but the B&B catback is unreal:) :) :)

I had to return to the dealer a second time to get the "Upshift" feature to work. The Tech would not say, but I believe he missed one step in the procedure as after the second visit (only took a half hour, including a test drive), all is working as the TSB stated!

Good Luck

thanks JST2, can you tell me at approx. what RPM the auto upshift feature is kicking in so I can test her again on the way home??? If no auto upshift, then I guess it's back to the dealer for me:(

I also had to return a 2nd time - this time someone from Chrysler was involved also (remotely). As best I understand, the flash that was installed was no different from the original flash. This time the correct flash was installed; the trans does what was advertised (shifts to the next gear instead of hitting the rev limiter). From 1-2, it shifts at 5500 - 5700 (probably 5500; my slow eyes may account for the 5700 LOL). All other shifts are >=6100 (again hard to see).

One interesting observation - I was in 2nd gear at a low speed, floored the pedal, and did not get a kickdown to 1st gear. So I put the autostick into 1st. It shifted back to 1st, the revs went very high very quickly, and it momentarily seemed to hit the rev limiter, then shifted.

I do like how the trans works now, much better than before.

thanks Jeep and others for your comments, I'll check at >6100 today and let you guys know if I'm going in for a re-re-flash. . .

ALSO, got four new tires yesterday from Goodyear, good thing since the left front had a plug in it from a chunk of metal I hit Christmas Eve. . . couldn't believe that it said $578 per tire for the rears on the invoice? crazy!

Under warranty??? What was the problem with your tires? or just worn out and you paid for them yourself?

the tires were replaced as part of the "customer satisfaction campaign" from Goodyear, also known as a recall in the real world. . . there was a defect on the inner wall that caused a vibration (apparently worse than the normal run flat vibration), if your VIN number fell in the range that had affected tires, they should have mailed you a letter about the recall 4-6 weeks ago

I also pushed the truck a bit harder at redline last night and no auto upshift, I believe my re-flash did not take, here comes another service appointment:(

I got my TCM reflashed and it is much better, with better gear selection on rolling launches. Another thing that I never mentioned before is that when auto-stick downshifting to use the engine as a brake going downhill it did not seem to hold the truck at the desired slower speed. Now with the TCM reflash I can engine brake perfectly, no brakes needed on the steep hills near my house. Added bonus!
