the value of basically every vehicle on the road is seriously depreciating at a record pace...

If it makes anybody feel better it isnt just the gas guzzlers/and our rigs that are dropping in prices...

I have been in the market for a e46 bmw and i am stoked to see their values way under the supposed true market value... I continue to see dealers actually selling 04 and 05 models BELOW the vehicles TRADE IN VALUE....

when banks make loans more difficult to the consumer it has a brutal impact on vehicle sales considering 75% of auto sales are through AUTO LOANS....

the supply is way up and the demand has been serious compromised by this....

so if anyone is out there considering a new or used vehicle do not feel you are disrespecting the seller by offering the vehicles trade in value or even less

its a great time to buy a car..!!

I hear ya on that my dad an I have been looking for a track car for a while now and it has basically come down to 04/05 Z06 or 04/05 E46 M3. We had to pass up a sick deal last week on a perfect condition '05 black M3 6spd with 30k on the clock for $24k! Looks like were going to wait out the holidays before buying a vehicle that would sit in the garage this winter and depreciate even more. Plus there still is some tension on WHOs garage it is going to be sitting in!

I personally haven't had much luck getting a "warm & fuzzy" feeling about car shopping recently.
About 1 month ago I upgraded my travel trailer to a larger one with a slide-out. The additional room came with the penalty of additional weight. The additional weight, in turn, put my 06 Durango Limited 4x4(5.7 Hemi) slightly over its towing capacity of 8650 lbs. For the past week I've been looking into getting an SUV with more towing capacity. I've sat down with both Dodge & Toyota salesmen in an attempt to strike a deal. Both of these sessions ended about the same way....I was offered "auction" price for my Durango(low mileage & above average condition) on trade-in while the dealerships were reluctant to mark down their vehicles at all!! They both made a big deal about the amount of factory rebate offered but that's about it( Dodge $1500, Toyota $3000). The 2009 Dodge Durango stickered at $46500 & the 2008 Toyota Sequoia stickered at $53500. I was offered $12000 for my $42000, 2 yr old Durango Limited.
Maybe buying from a private individual might be a good buying experience, but trying to get a "sweet" deal from my local dealerships hasn't happened.

I've been looking at E-55 AMG's 05-06 and most are in the high 30's to mid 40's range. It doesn't look like they are moving them though.
