Razorecko 11-13-2008, 05:26 PM K, I got my front window replaced ( cracked ) now am i just crazy or do all of our window/rain sensors look like this ? - especially that little camera like thing pointed to with the arrow :D

Derwood98 11-13-2008, 05:29 PM Mine doesn't look like that, but mine is an 07. Mine is like the front of a radar detector which is a smoked plastic.
mrfamous 11-13-2008, 05:35 PM Mine looks a lot like that but no matter what angle I look at it, I can barely see the thing you are pointing to. Your's is much more visible; or it could just be the photo.
The other thing is that your 'camera' portion looks offset and mine looks like it is in the middle. I have an '07.
Razorecko 11-13-2008, 05:35 PM Yea, thats the thing I dont think that the '08's even look like that but i'm not sure. I'm pretty sure all the years are the same looking but if someone with an '08 could verify than i can call and ***** at the dealer.
RockSRT8 11-13-2008, 05:36 PM Just checked.. my '08 looks exactly like that. What is the red square flush against the windshield?
-Rock
The windshield needs to be ordered with a rain sensor "cut-out" in the tint. Mine is a 2007 also. And it has been replaced at least 3 times:o
Razorecko 11-13-2008, 05:43 PM Maybe one of you '08'rs can take a pic for me. I took a chance and ordered a mopar oem windshield with the tint on the top ( they do exist ) and I have black cutout but because the tint runs directly on the bottom of it i have a flush black line. So I can't tell if its just trick of the eye now with the tint or something else...Heres another pic with the cut out in the red lines...

Razorecko 11-13-2008, 05:52 PM Never mind guys, thats the way it was before ( looked up pics from before cracked windshield ) it just looks differently now that i have the nice couple inches of top tint :)

Jeep Trick 11-13-2008, 05:58 PM Doesn't look quite right for some reason. Is there that bumpy stuff up at the top?
Razorecko 11-13-2008, 06:14 PM ^ yep, you can see it from the inside. Its barely visible from the outside, the red diagnol lines i drew are where the bumpy cutout is on the inside.

THE TINT IS SUPPOSED TO COME DOWN AND BOX OFF AROUND THE MIRROR AND SENSOR
Razorecko 11-13-2008, 06:38 PM ^ It Is. I Got A Mopar Windshield That Comes With A factory Tint Strip. This Factory Tint Strip Runs Along The Exact Width As The Cut Out.

BILLSHOE 11-13-2008, 07:01 PM bill u tinted the front windshield.

Razorecko 11-13-2008, 07:02 PM Yea did you tint your front windshield ? I'm talking about a mopar windshield with the tint strip in the glass. Not a plastic tint but actually produced tint out of the factory like our rear hatch window.

I SOAK THE SH!T OUT OF THE STICKERS WITH WATER SO THEY DONT REALLY STICK TO TINT AND EASY TO GET OFF. I HAD ONE TUNNEL COP BREAK MY BALLS ABOUT TINT BUT STOPPED ME FOR NO FRONT PLATE BUT LET ME GO ANYWAY.
Razorecko 11-13-2008, 07:09 PM ^ my tint is in the glass. It blends in with the rough surface where the mirror attaches...I suppose i'll have to take more pics tonight otherwise we'll debate untill morning

NO I GOT YOU BUT MINE NEVER SHOWED THRU LIKE THAT BUT IT IS AN 07
Razorecko 11-13-2008, 07:14 PM ^ i'm pretty sure its the lighting throwing an optical illusion. I'll have to take a pic later in my garage. Also to show the winshield as an option to people that want a factory windshield replacement with an oem tint strip. It should help those 2-3 inches on top always get me with the full glare of the sun

YES DIFFINETLY WORTH GETTING WITH BUILT IN TINT STRIP. MAYBE MINE IS DARK TO CAUSE NO LIGHT GETTING INSIDE.
