I have a few friends that have some pretty sweet new cars so we all went out last night cuz my jeep has about 500 miles on it now and we wanted to see how they size up.

Race 1
'07 Audi RS4
1st run: bad driver in rs4 so we tied til about 60
2nd run: still bad driver beat him til 100
3rd rn: same as 2nd
4th: good driver from 20 mph roll even then he pulls away (video)
5th: good driver from stop somewhat even then he pulls hard (video)

Race 2
06 Audi A4 with chip and down pipe
beat him all times. he can launch a bit better but i pull hard

Race 3
'07 Mercedes ML63
1st run: dead even cuz i didnt power break or turn traction off
2nd run: from 20 mph roll i pull a bit til about 80 mph then he pulls hard (video)
3rd run: from stop srt launches really hard and then stays ahead til about 110 where he catches up and passes by 120 (video)
this thing is fast up top.

all the videos are on my profile on youtube. here is a link to the race with the ML63. click on my profile to see all the others.

Wow! How did she feel at 160??? (and I didn't see any cops?) Looks like the oil temp only went to 280-ish.

Why would oil temp raise that much? I'm sure its designed for it not to overheat - going fast isn't as bad as lots of revving up and down say on an autox track.

I've gone up there as well and the steering and stability feels so-so ... you can really tell its top heavy.

BlackedOut: the spec's on the RS4 say 0-60mph in 4.8seconds you think thats a fair statement?
I was thinking about getting an RS4 but the sheet spec's all sound very slow so its turned me off a lot unless theres a turbo kit for it now or very soon.

btw, I have same results with an ML63 with a slight differance that I am further in the lead off the line, and he catches up and pulls away hard at around 80-85mph not all the way up to 110+

RS4 is a nice ride but WAYYYYYYYYYYY over priced. At the end of the day it's still a modded A4. At least my modded GC is reasonably priced and I will not cry when someone dings my door or leaves a license plate impression on my bumper.:)

BlackedOut, thanks for the videos.

Car & Driver says 0-60 in 4.6 and 1/4 in 13.2

The RS4 does redline @ 8k, but it is not a torque monster like the Jeep. 414hp / 317tq

feels alright, not like an audi thats for sure. lots of wind noise but overall not that bad. the oil temp goes up but not too bad.

if i launch goo the rs4 and i are about even til 60 mph so the 4.8 0-60 is beleive able, the real speed in that car is after 60 though it is a rocket. One of the fastest cars ive ridden in. definatly not just a souped up A4. more like a souped uo S4. if i coul afford it id prolly get one but the jeep is the best bamg for the buck

The GC SRT8 hits a brick wall over 100 mph.

That's pretty hilarious. Do you know anything about the RS4? Different engine, driveline & suspension. Not upgraded A4 parts.

BTW, at the end of the day, your SRT-8 is still a GC. ;)

i dont think so. maybe 170 if your lucky downhill. in that video im going slightly downhill. the problem is that your at about 6000 rpms at 163mph. you only have 200 rpms left to get to 170. not likely its gonna happen.

Yes at the end of the day I still have a GC (I said it MYSELF!), BUT I paid 10% over what a "regular" GC costs. AND MR. Smarty Pants, I DO have a different engine, driveline & suspension (oh, and a cool looking exhaust pipe). Looking at the RS4 WITH it's different engine, driveline & suspension you have to pay about 60% more (~$71K) than the "regular" 3.2 A4 costs. NOT a good deal in my book, but whatever tickles RS4 owner's pickles! I can’t take away the fact that RS is fast but I wouldn’t spend the money.

Almost forgot, a good friend of mine had one for the day (test drive), but instead got a 911. He’s got no kids or luggage requirements, exactly why GC is so appealing to me and IS on par with RS4 (99% of the time) only more space and easier on the wallet. I’m still laughing….:)

Blacked Out, are you from SoCal? If so, I've seen you driving on the 10 west before...Theres a post on here about it. I pulled up next to you and honked in november some time.

Wow, you got a little overly defensive. I wasn't trying to make you sound stupid or anything. To me it looked like you thought the RS4 wasn't much different than the A4.

And I like your friend already. My dream car is a 911 turbo; either 964 or 993 body style. :)

I would say somewhere in the 150's, you should invest in a small GPS and do some top end runs.

He was invited to drive the Bugatti Veyron, then on the way home (in his all new 911) he cried (literally) that it has no power, no brakes and doesn't corner. IT'S ALL REALITIVE!!!!:D

the 06 doesnt have the transmission TSB therefore it is slower
