: Anyone run across the Lexus IS F yet?
RUDE8 11-06-2008, 02:49 PM Just saw one of these today in silver and never had seen nor heard of it before. Seems to have some solid numbers based on what Motor Trend writes.

Jeep Trick 11-06-2008, 02:53 PM I've seen a few but have not run one.
I did take an new M3 from a stop though.
veyronSRT8@TTCreations 11-06-2008, 02:54 PM sure have...we didn't get to run but he sure thought he was badass. he's lucky we didn't get to run tho. ;) he saw me and raced up and cut me off to get in front of me at a light downtown denver. it was brand new...would've been so nice to smoke him and make him realize he should have bought a jeep instead. lol
scottina06 11-06-2008, 02:55 PM they are very fast...but not SRT8 fast. Sweet ride though....fit and finish is Lexus....for sure.
fergcougar 11-06-2008, 03:01 PM my buddy has one and its very quick on the freeway and handles sweet too..Too bad it looks like a chick car inside.
MD 44 11-06-2008, 03:05 PM They just came out this year. It is an IS 350, but with a V8 engine in it - and with a price tag of around 65K!
BOB WISNER 11-06-2008, 03:09 PM I was next to a red one yesterday, but I was in my truck. My wife and I sat in one at the Anaheim auto show and it was the MOST comfortable car I've ever sat in. We owned a 2002 IS before the Jeep. Boy do I miss the Lexus. Fit and finish and customer service are second to none. Unlike the Jeep.
YoungMedic23 11-06-2008, 03:13 PM My friend smoked an IS-F in his Vortech Jeep by 10 cars lol
promo718 11-06-2008, 03:13 PM decent numbers, especially for the weight (almost 4000 lbs), and good gas mileage for a 5.0 (16/23), but the looks disappoint.. can you say soccer mom / yuppymobile?
FriscoHemi 11-06-2008, 03:26 PM i haven't had the pleasure of smokin' one yet but as i do i'll post :D
DevssrT 11-06-2008, 03:38 PM Haven't gotten to run one yet but they are nice looking for sure. However ive heard they don't live up to the performance numbers...the interior is pimp IMO.
Patrick G 11-06-2008, 03:40 PM Just don't race one from a roll unless you're modified. The IS-F's will typically run over 110mph in the quarter. From a dig, even a stock SRT8 Jeep will smoke it, but don't get overconfident if racing from a roll. Those cars are faster than you might expect.
scottina06 11-06-2008, 04:12 PM ...hahaha...Medic...that means that Vortech Jeep would run like a 9 second 1/4.....
scottina06 11-06-2008, 04:18 PM what I see below is a 13.0 sec 1/4 mile. Isnt a stock Jeep SRT8 13.3-13.6? I believe i saw a vortech Jeep run a 12.3-12.6...so 10 cars...I dont know----
0-40 2.7
0-50 3.6
0-60 4.7
0-70 5.9
0-80 7.2
0-90 8.6
0-100 10.5
Passing, 45-65 mph 2.2
Quarter mile 13.0 sec @ 111.7 mph
Braking, 60-0 mph 106 ft
Lateral acceleration 0.91 g, avg
MT Figure Eight 24.5 sec @ 0.78 g, avg
Top-gear revs @ 60 mph 1600 rpm
scottina06 11-06-2008, 04:21 PM same numbers for the SRT8 from motortrend....
0-60 mph 4.8 sec
Quarter mile 13.5 sec @ 101.6 mph
EPA city/hwy fuel econ 12/15 mpg
scottina06 11-06-2008, 04:22 PM I have driven an IS-F many times as I was considering purchasing one. The looks got me and the 4 doors. I like the looks...just not aggressive enough with the 4 doors.
OneBadJeep 11-06-2008, 04:57 PM All i can say is "who cares"......The CTS-V is almost out....
ISF- Tranny is bad ass, 8 speed (who needs that), it is as fast as the OLD CTSV....
YoungMedic23 11-06-2008, 05:40 PM ...hahaha...Medic...that means that Vortech Jeep would run like a 9 second 1/4.....
Ok maybe 5 cars but when you're going 100mph 5 cars is only a couple tenths of a second
SRT8 4 J 11-06-2008, 06:00 PM Just don't race one from a roll unless you're modified. The IS-F's will typically run over 110mph in the quarter. From a dig, even a stock SRT8 Jeep will smoke it, but don't get overconfident if racing from a roll. Those cars are faster than you might expect.
Was up against one at the track....they are quick...He ran a 12.7 to my 13.0. Granted it was my very first time at the track-it still was fast. I talked with him for a few minutes after-said he had no mods except for removing the spare :) Nice guy-said they were around 415 hp-that was my first time seeing one. Hopefully after a few more track sessions-I'll be able to redeem myself.
aplatero1984 11-06-2008, 06:18 PM this girl I was banging for a while had a blue one and it is def an awesome vehicle. I wouldn't spend that much money on it though, how much are those things brand new 60-65k??

I smoked him by at least 10 cars,he had trouble with the paddles shift,so did a roll at 25 miles and raped him again. They are nice cars and with a s/c or turbo they will be fast. Will race him when he gets is porch 911 turbo, its in order.

yeah I drove it a couple of times and being an asian person driving an asian car, I felt really out of place! its just NOT ME! Car def has get up and go but the Jeep would def take it from a dig!!:D
BeNJeeZy 11-07-2008, 11:59 AM i saw one at the track running high 12's
GodfatherSRT8 11-07-2008, 12:28 PM moved..to a new thread.
i saw one at the track running high 12's
:iamwithstupid:
I think he was running 12.6X but did have a few minor mods if I remeber. Either way from a roll stock to stock will eat up the Jeep. Race em from a dig and it should be a good race.
some of the mags had them at 12.7s, quicker than the new m3
wed get raped from a roll but a dig on the street would probably put us ahead
DRE1615 11-09-2008, 11:38 AM I own an ISF. 416hp and 371 lb/ft of torque. They'll run 12.7 -12.8 with a decent driver who can launch in the quarter mile STOCK. I've seen guys run 12.5's stock with a good launch. It will run a low (4.2 ish) 0-60 with good conditions. I think from a dig the Jeep would obviously give it a run for its money, like pretty much any other car on the road. But from a dig the ISF would walk it quite nicely, considering the jeep is stock or not heavily modded. There's not really an aftermarket yet for the ISF but now that SEMA is over, there should be a bunch of exhausts and intakes, S/C and twin turbo kits that will really make them fly.
xiaolong 11-17-2008, 06:20 PM ill agree that this is-f is pretty quick.
drove one, liked it, but you have to wind it up a lil bit, it wount kick on immediately like we do with our torque.
raced one from a roll, we were neck and neck the whole time.
im modded a lil bit though.
he never "lined up" with me, he would just gun it and i would follow suit.
if we lined up at a 25 or 50 roll, i think he would get jumped a lil bit and not sure if he would be able to catch up and pass me. just from observation.
i tried to video it on my phone, but it was terrible.
im waiting for another one to run and i will be camera ready.
this has been argued a lot at another forum, not tryin to start a bench racing argument here.

Such a man of class;):D
nukemjk 11-18-2008, 06:03 AM My friend just bought one and i got to drive it myself. The thing is pretty badass. Off the line we smoak them...of course. In the 1/8 its close but we still take them. But they run around 12.7 quarter with a good driver so obvisously beat a stock jeep. They are fun to drive tho...they are pretty tame just driving around...but when you floor it..around 4k they have some kind of exhaust gate or soemthing that opens up...and you get thrown back pretty good. Nothing like the jeep, but still pretty good. I think they look pretty sweet.
Haha just saw the ones right in front of me...saying pretty much the same thing.
Ok I ran one of these from a roll and he couldnt pass me. I was in 1st and ready for him tho. The guy came up on my ass. As soon as we got onto a street that he could pass me, he tried ;) . I was watching him in my mirror and waited for him to nail it. I was in 1st rolling real slow just waiting. As soon as he made a move it was on. He stayed with me but couldnt catch/pass. Once we got up into 2nd almost third we had to let off. I didnt even know it was an ISF until I let him go on and then I saw the quad exhaust. They are fast and I wouldnt even think of racing one at higher speeds. Guy was pissed too! he kept wanting more but after a few go's I stopped and let him fly by me pissed lol
YogiSRT8 02-16-2010, 09:46 PM Holy old thread...
As you can see below i had an IS350. It was a nice car but it was just too bland for me so i traded it on the Jeep. The Lexus just had no soul. I LOVED the interior, and cooled seats are hot (haha) that is the one thing i miss. I never got to drive the ISF but it does have a certain appeal to it. I would imagine that it would get boring after a while just like my IS350 did. The one thing on the IS line was a complete lack of aftermarket while i owned mine. There were exhausts and intakes and neither offered performance gain.
I guess i would rather have a CTS-V, C63, M3 or RS4 for the same price but this is just bench dreaming since i have only sat in the above. I have driven the previous gen of all of them but not the current models.
rutiger 02-16-2010, 11:42 PM i did own an isf and it never got boring. it's far from an is350. but i agree that there are more mod friendly cars.
yungsrt 02-17-2010, 01:44 AM I saw a blue one about a month ago. It looks o.k, it's the souped up version of the
IS350.
I agree that it doesn't have "SOUL"
It's just another Japanese/Import car.
I'm not a big fan of GM but the CTS-V is the Sh*t.
robbys3m3 02-17-2010, 09:21 AM hey guys,
i have an 08 ISF also (exhaust and intake) and I love it, but it can't touch my jeep (exhaust, intake, predator) off the line. It's a great combo of sports car and luxury sedan and I've had no issues with it whatsoever over the last year and a half. when it comes to sheer speed, it's fast and fun with a great tranny, but my Jeep wins hands down. When I got it, the 08's were highly discounted too...like $10k off sticker, so the price was right too and everything combined led me to ISf and not the M3 (which optioned out the same would have been like $67k!).
