Ill be coming up on 36k in the next month or so and really want an extended warranty. Im looking at a 7/70 or 10/100. I had initially planned on seeing what Don could do but it looks like Champion has shut its doors...

I had an aftermarket warranty on my old 5.9 and ran into nothing but problems when trying to get them to approve/pay for work. Id like to stay with a Chryco warranty if possible but if you have had positive experiences with another company id appreciate it if you can point me in the right direction.

So...where should I begin my search? Im going to ask for a quote from my local dealer but Im sure its going to be absurdly high..

Thanks in advance.

I had a Wynn's warranty years ago on a Dodge minivan. Never a single complaint or problem in getting them to pay for work, including $800 for A/C replacement and over $1,500 in a new tranny. The deductible was $50 I think. They didn't care what shop it was and they always paid promptly with no fuss. Added up they probably paid out $4k in warranty work for that car. The warranty was cheap too, under $500 for 3/36 coverage.

Unfortunately last I knew they do not sell direct, you have to find a dealer who offers it and work out something with them. I tried to get one from them awhile back for my '01 suburban when the factory warranty ran out and had a real hard time finding someone to sell one to me. Wynn's gave me a list of dealers in my area but none of them would allow me to purchase the warranty alone, said they could only offer it with a new/used car sale.

I'd go with a Chrysler Max Care. It covers just about everything and I didn't have any issues when my engine took a sh*t. Google "chrysler service contracts". The first link is a site that was run by Champion. If you get a quote on there, that will be cost on the warranty. Even if you can't buy it from the site, you'll know cost and can use it as ammo with the dealer.

Try this link. I have not used them but was considering buyin one as well.

This is what a remember.

When you go to the website and complete your information, it will give you a quote. Do not buy it and just exit. A window will pop up encouragin you to buy it. Just close it. Later they will send you an email offering a discount to the quote they just gave you.

That is a good question....

do you know though if we look at the percentages (based on consumer reports)... ONLY 39% of the consumers who had extended warranties on jeeps benefited from the warranty... so the other 61% actually paid more money for the warranty compared to what it would have cost them to cover the mechanical problems themselves...

Anyway its nice to have that peace of mind... I would tell you to look into TFCU but they are only based on Long Island, NY... they have great extended warranties...

The only debate I have is if I should choose one with a deductible (50, 100 or 250) or no deductible...

Good luck... I am going to look at a few others and if i see something good i will post it

Does NOBODY have faith in our rigs?? :) An extended warranty is usually a good idea seeing as vehicles these days are so complicated to fix....looking into 1 as well.

I had one on my 5.9 that I got through my Credit Union. It was awesome. Never a problem and the dealer even worked with me to get them to pay for stuff that would have been questionable (in their opinion) with a Chrysler warranty. I got my money back 4 times over. I cant remember the name of the company though, check with your bank or credit union.

Hopefully our rigs are better then their predecessors of 10 years ago....
