: B&B vs Borla S?!?!
SRT830 11-03-2008, 01:25 PM Thought i was dead set on the Borla S, but now i am informed that the B&B is the loudest on the market?! The Borla has a muffler and resonator and the B&B only has one set of resonators?? is this tru? I am looking for the loudest exhaust i can install, but woulld like to have the resonance on the inside down to a minimum. Can anyone speak on behalf of either of these exhausts and has anyone heard these things side by side at all?!?! DECISIONS, DECISIONS!!!!
Vinnysrt8 11-03-2008, 01:29 PM I think it is the borla s that is loudest and the next loudest is straight pipe
mortimer 11-03-2008, 01:29 PM I really like my StainlessWorks exhaust. Slight cabin noise at 1800rpms and sounds WICKED from the outside.
My understanding the ZOOMERS exhaust is loudest . . . I'm sure someone will chime in if I'm wrong

Thanks. I have heard the Zoomers and its def not louder then the Borla S. Very reserved compard to it actually. I was very suprised.
DevssrT 11-03-2008, 01:36 PM Hmm I always thought zoomers is loudest...borla is also loud but deep and it has those sweet 5" tips..I heard 02grands b&b at hooters and sounds sweet...aggressive and raspy...he's actually trying to sell it at this time I believe.
mortimer 11-03-2008, 01:38 PM If LOUD is your only concern why not just put in 3" straight pipes with one of the louder Magnaflow or Flowmasters? Or no mufflers at all? Probably would cost you less than $400 at any exhaust shop.

I am looking for stil a practical driver that can cruise at 80 mph w/ low resonance on the inside, yet ROOOOARRR on take off and whenever i am on the throttle! Corsa put a lot of work into their resonance reducing technology, but heard its not as loud at the Borla and that the Borla doesn't have that bad of resonance. I know i am going to have some, and that is just fine, just not ear peircing at any RPM!
BlackJeepSRT 11-03-2008, 01:49 PM Stick with the Borla S. It's the most popular for a reason.
my02grand 11-03-2008, 01:56 PM I like my B&B wanted the Borla S, but "Blown WJ" made a comment that the B&B was the loudest, my oh my, haha...
Billmoe 11-03-2008, 02:17 PM There is a vid on You tube with like 5 Jeeps with 5 different st-ups revved right in a row for comparison. Don't remember the types though...

Thanks. I have seen that one. Does't have th B&B i do not think. However i will check again tonight if i remember!
L8BRAKR 11-03-2008, 02:24 PM Yep, I have the B&B as well and am very very happy with the sound. Under normal driving conditions it has some growl but not annoying. When you step on it, you really unleash it's potential and sounds fantastic, especially between shifts.
Check B&B's site, they have a side by side comparison with stock.

brianm 11-03-2008, 02:26 PM borla s everytime
veyronSRT8@TTCreations 11-03-2008, 02:29 PM from what i have seen, there have been a few defective B&B's floating around our forum, haven't seen any Borla S's tho...the Borla IMO is the best place to be. ;)
Billmoe 11-03-2008, 02:33 PM I actually ordered the Borla like an hour ago. Now gotta make an appt with exhaust shop. I hear "Lou's custom Exhausts" is the place here in MA. Will check them out. Can't wait....

I have heard the same thign about the B&B. Def not payin to have an exhaust fall apart and have to weld it up! Otherwise i would make myself a custom one! Bill, good luck w/ the exhuast! I have heard nothing but great things about the Borla S and i believe i am going to go w/ it aswell!! Still looking for a good used Borla S if anyone has another one laying around!!
DevssrT 11-03-2008, 03:16 PM you really can't have it be loud and not expect some resonance in the cabin..
SRT830 11-03-2008, 07:13 PM Oh i kno there will be resonance and i expect that, but i'm referring to ear peircing resonance. I had it in my last jeep and it wasn't fun b/c it actually hurt it was so loud with such a deep pitch at 2500-3000 rpm! I want noise inside from the American Muscle!! so i think i'm going to go w/ the Borla S!!!
1BAMFR 11-03-2008, 07:26 PM Kooks & Borla "S" = DSHIZNIT
SRT830 11-04-2008, 07:56 AM Kooks & Borla "S" = DSHIZNIT
Yours sounds amazing keoni. I forgot that you have kooks headers too! How is the resonance in the cabin for you cruising like 70-80?
