: Wide-Band Dual Sensor Air/Fuel Meter
maansy 10-31-2008, 02:51 AM i am looking to get Andy's tune with all the mod installed in my sig (Corsa/Mopar CatBack - Mopar CAI - Bwoody Links/Springs - Jet 180° TStat/Stant Cap - Thermalnator - SLP UD Pulley - CNC'd TB - Flushed PCM/Andy's Tune), and i hear if i have a Wide-Band A/F it would be better to make the tune even more powerfull. is that true?
i know if i have H/C, Headers or I/F then the Wide-Band is a must, but it won't hurt to get it and do some WOT's and then send it to Andy so he can get a better idea of how my jeep run.
here is what i have my eyes on:

FAST™ Wide-Band Dual Sensor Air/Fuel Meter (http://estore.websitepros.com/802805/Detail.bok?no=1314)
what do you guys think?
is this worth the money?
where can i find install guide for the Wide-Band?
thanks :)
SilveRT8 10-31-2008, 05:18 AM Yes, I have the exact same model installed in mine. It is quite a large gauge and cumbersome with all the big cables attached to it, so I leave it in the glove box when not in use and it takes almost all the space in there. But it is a very helpfull unit when you want to set your A/F ratios correctly when you run and record some third gear pulls, than you can adjust your WOT fuel with the Predator.
I would say this model is more for Tuners or hardcore type racers who want the most precise gauge available and want to read and record each cylinder bank individually. There are other brands making smaller, more elegant models that can be mounted permanently on the dash if all you need is to get an idea of your A/F ratio without recording precise runs.
You can also get A/F readings when on the Dyno if you dont have a gauge, but tuning without knowing your A/F's is looking for potential disaster for your engine.

SkyeHighSRT8 10-31-2008, 05:46 AM Wade ran a 12.58 with a bwoody and Andy's tune dialed in with a wideband AF. That's enough for me to try one too.
This is the one I bought that he recomended.

I might by my self one.
maansy 10-31-2008, 07:45 AM i like this one too, its important to me to log A/F ratio for tunning so this one is perfect (price is $250)
one more thing, can't i chande the sticker that has the AEM logo on. i am hoping there is an SRT logo that will fit the gauge perfectly
thanx guys

I have this as well. Mine is mounted in the passenger cupholder. No wires, nice mount from audio shop. There are pics floating around the forum somewhere.

I going to install mine this weekend and will also put it in the glove box when not in use. One question for those that have one, where did you run the cables inside? Have a couple of ideas but always looking for better ones.
Grip Grip 10-31-2008, 05:48 PM I have the Innovative model and it works like a charm. I think I paid $300 for it on ebay.

Given my location, my wires are ran under the shifter console.
SilveRT8 10-31-2008, 09:03 PM Mine go through a predrilled hole in the passenger's floor and up to the glovebox where it stays when not in use

QBNKID 10-31-2008, 10:14 PM I'm thinking of getting one myself, just not sure if I should go with a single or dual channel.
Is there a big or any difference on the readings from one bank than to the other?
I want to go with what works the best to get my tuning right on the money.
Thanks!
OK, I'm going to search on here now and see if I can find where you guys are mounting the bung(s) for the wide band on the exhaust. :)
SilveRT8 10-31-2008, 10:34 PM I have headers and as per FAST's instruction it is mounted about 2" near the end of the collectors, just before the connection to the mid-pipes.

QBNKID 10-31-2008, 11:03 PM Thanks Claude!
Thobart 10-31-2008, 11:12 PM the afr looks just like this boost gauge:

I also have the odbII setup and am getting them to put the same "SS" backround as wallpaper on that. They could make a "SRT" or whatever you like to use as a gauge.
Car_Guy 11-03-2008, 07:53 PM So no one has an A pillar pod for Grand Cherokees yet??? That's where I want to mount mine.

I have an email to a Pod manufac. and they've looked at doing our vehicle before but at the time there wasn't an interest. If I/we can MAYBE convince him that would be killer. I've sent him about 5 links to posts and threads about the subject. It's been 2 days so we'll see. Most of the time, these things never pan out for us though. I'll be stoked if it happens. :rocker:
maansy 11-04-2008, 09:57 PM I ended up buying the Innovate Dual A/F (http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/xcart/product.php?productid=16303&cat=0&page=1)

maansy 11-06-2008, 01:48 PM i will be getting the Innovate Dual A/F in 2 days. I am wondering how/what is the best way to install this? percise location if anyone knows.
BuilderBill stated that 2 O'clock and 10 O'colock is the best angle, but where and close to what?
if there is a pic that show where to install and how far from what. That would be great.

Great choice!

maansy 11-09-2008, 12:26 AM Bill, where do you think i should run the wires from the censers to the meter
btw, the kit looks top notch
maansy 01-10-2009, 02:15 AM a friend of mine is not suggesting installing the meter on a stock headers with corsa or its suppose to be used with kooks/SW only?
Chris Hull@TTC 01-10-2009, 09:36 AM Mine go through a predrilled hole in the passenger's floor and up to the glovebox where it stays when not in use

I have the same one in my glove box also, only problem
is my wires got fried. Not a good install, my own fault.

I would think that a/f is a/f whether on short tubes or long tubes.

so you think i should just install it on a stock headers?
i am thinking it might help the tuner if i dial it in and record some logs
anyways the A/F meter i got looks too pretty to leave it behind :)

Ya, I think as long as your bung is pre-cat you're fine. And yes, your tuner will like you for having it :)
