Long story short...
I see people on here all the time buying and selling used Diablo's...
My friend here at work told me this
"if you buy a used Diablo you must get it reflashed from Diablo OR the stock tune that was originally stored on it from the 1st vehicle MUST be uploaded back into the original vehicle before it is used on a 2nd vehicle (b/c a diablo only can save one stock tune at a time)....
So.. if you buy a diablo that still has the original stock tune on it you cannot use it...
Since i never seen a thread on this and cont. to search with no results im thinking he is wrong and you can just reset any used predator just as long ofcourse it is for the same vehicle
I cant seem to find this answer ANYWHERE....
anyone? what really is the true facts about used diablo's... ?

If someone sells you a u7135 for our truck that's used, he must put his truck back to stock for it to work on yours. If the tuner is used to load a tune, it becomes VIN locked to that vehicle. When returned to stock, it becomes unlocked again.

They are VIN specific. So, the original owner must pull the Diablo tune from the vehicle and reinstall the stock tune back to the vehicle, then the diablo can be used on a different vehicle within the scope of that P/N and as long as the CAL ID matches (which can be updated via web site).

In layman's terms, you have the tunes in the Diablo, and your existing stock tune. When you upload a tune, it saves your existing stock tube back to the Diablo. So in order to use it on your vehicle, you need to have the existing stock tune back in the PCM/ECM. Otherwise it's considered "locked" rendering it useless. CMR tunes are VIN specific and only for your VIN. Diablo canned tunes are universal per application.
