I have a hardwire hit for my radar detector. I need to know which wire to sync with.

i think typically there is some type of diagram in the users manual for hardwiring...i'm not certain though....or call the radar detector company even...

I'm hardwiring it with the rear view mirror. I plugged it into the ground and the power wires and nothing.

i just wired my radar. dont mess with mirror or light switches or garage oppener power. its unstable, will make radar work baddly. I did it at first then rewired it. The best way to draw power for it is from power plug on the right, just run wire around 30 min deal.

good luck.

I don't want the cord anymore. I'll test the hardwire and see if it's as good, and I'll return to the cord if that's the case. But I need to know which wire is for the power since I tried 3 and they didn't work.

IIRC OurZoo did this & bought a plugNplay wire loom from a company online(plus he got a sweet billet mount). I don't remember the site.

Not sure 08 is different:

I did this on my 007 with a V1. Works fine. Turns on and off with the Jeep.
This pic is of the back of the mirror. Slot one from left looking at back of mirror is power. next is ground.

Hmm I might just have to do this...not to hijack but anyone running an escort detector and when you goose the throttle the laser detection comes on?? Mine does this once an awhile.

same happened to me. get stable power. (power outlet) if you have voltmeter you can see how much "over head console" power fluctuates with healites, brakes, ac or any other electrical part.

Rob, I already saw that and tried it. 08 is different. We have a white and green, not black and green. Thanks though!

Dev, I've had nothing but problems with Escort. I ended up with Bel which is the same as the higher end Escorts for less $$$. Supposedly the same technology, but I guess I have a "factory freak" of sort.

Miki, no volt meter.

Dev, on the rear view mirror, there is stable meaning on all the time and switching meaning only when the power is on. Unless I'm wrong, that's the memo I got on it.

HMMMMM...I see what your saying...mine isnt powered to the mirror...I plug it in the left AUX hole thing....like the Escort picks up the Bogeys from wayyy far down the road...the only problem is the LASER warning thing...

I had to run my down to the fuse box. Takes a few extra minutes but worth it. Its fused, its a true 12v and separate from all the other BS. Just run it down the A pillar

Not sure about the laser warning. Try calling up Escort and get some advice before they make you send it in.

I got it so I can run it to the rear view mirror. Otherwise, I have a 6' cord.

Thats what i mean clean power, not sharing with any other devices. 12v power outlet on the left side works fine as well as direct wire to fuse box.
I am not a big fan having extra beeping (self test) coming from the radar.
Ive been using radar/jammer for a while and it works great.
