Has anyone in here bought this and hooked it up to their beasts? If so was it a hard mod to do?

Thanks.

I have, it's easy. Disconnect your battery, remove the radio bezel, remove your radio, center splice three wires into the harness (solder & tape).

Run the cable to the inside of the glovebox, drill a 1" hole inside the glove box to mount the bulkhead adapter, plug the iPod cable in, re-install the radio/bezel, re-connect your battery, connect to your iPod, tune your radio to 87.9 and listen. Done!

I did not mount my bulkhead adapter in the glovebox, I have yet to mount to to determine where I want it.

The picture on the wkjeeps.com site is for Jeep's that do not use the CAN-BUS system as our WK's do, so installation is a little different but not rocket science!

How do you like the sound with this installed? Does the ipod play loud enough through the car stereo?

It's fine. I have the REC NAC; my only complaint is... I have the 80GB iPod with the hard disk drive. When the drive spins up, you can hear it over the speakers. They need to sheild the cable better.

I will experiment with some torroid chokes to see if it resolves the issue.

To navigate your songs, you still do it all on the iPod.
