This is supposedly classified as a "P" car and I've been getting quotes for $300+/month just for the SRT8.

sounds too much yes it is a "P"erformance car but your payments should be MINIMAL differance in comparison to a regular car... i have a family plan so i donno how much exactly for the srt8 only but i owned a 05 ram 1500 and the diff between them was under $10 a month.

Amer Fam quoted me $80.00 a month. Gave them an I.D. from a GCSRT8 I saw on Ebay because I don't own one. Full Coverage, Comp $250.00 deduct, $250.00 Collision Deduct.$150,000/$300,000 Liability

100-300, 1,000 deductible on comp and collision, property damage 50,000, under/uninsured motorist 50,000, and medical 5,000.

$521 per year with GMAC/Good Sam Insurance. Been with them for about 13+ years I think. Only one claim for storm damage on a motorhome in 97, (since sold) and they were great to deal with.

You are suffering from inflated quotes because of your age. 25 is the magic age for car insurance - rates can drop 300-500% depending on your driving record.

Until then, I recommend the switcharoo; title the vehicle under a parent or relative.

I pay $100 / month for full coverage with a $500 deductible.

Interesting timing on the post as I just received my policy for the new year in the mail yesterday. I can't remember what I'm paying cause I don't have it in front of me but it's somewhere around $70-75 per month. I can tell you for sure that I pay less on the GC SRT8 than I do on my wife's 2005 Nissan Quest (no comments please, this is our daily driver for the kids).

Here in NJ, I'm getting raped. $190 a month with Allstates best coverage.

And I'm 26, with a PERFECT driving record. Never been given a ticket.

The monthly price I quoted earlier (70-75 per month) is also for NJ. But please note that my price includes a significant amount of discounts because I use the same company for car insurance, home owners insurance, umbrella insurance, life insurance and personal articles insurance. Also, I have been with the same insurance company for 15 years, no points on my license (knock on wood), married, over 30, etc. Based on this type of stuff, it's really hard for any of us to compare since everyone's situation is different.

We are not paying significantly more than we did with our old Mountaineer. Perhaps another $150/year.

Might want to make sure your policy will pay the GC SRT8 blue book in case something happens to it.

I work for Farmers Ins and right now on the Roush im paying about $132/month for full coverage(21 years old). With a Jeep I would be paying about $140/month. Not too bad...

Lucky ... I just got quoted this yesterday from Geico's online quoting system.

"Your total cost for a 6 month policy will be $ 1492.10."

$250/month -- and that was as new customer, 20 years old, single vehicle with only 1 speeding ticket reported to their system (though I do have like 3 over the last 5 years)

It'll be near $300/m w/ Geico once they get full info ... sucks.

Here in western europe car insurances are really expensive.

A lot of cars are stolen in germany every year by bad guys from the very beggarly eastern european countries.

I have to pay full coverage for my SRT8 per year 2,400 EURO = 3,149 US$.

Thats only the 65% insurance payment, because of having good driving records without any accidents since min. 10 years.

CORRECTION: I'm looking at my policy now and I pay 64.97 per month.

I'm 38 with a clean driving record,no claims and live in Indiana. I'm with State Farm and my SRT8 runs us about $10 more a month than my 98 5.9Limited ZJ did. If I lived 20 miles west in Illinois I'd be paying more. I'm also on a family plan so I don't know what the break down is for all of our cars. Your age and driving record do make a huge difference. I'm finally becoming an old fart, I can afford expensive cars and the insurance doesn't cost more than my car payment! :p

my costs actually went down from the silver '05 5.7 GC to the black '06 SRT/8 GC because I get a "new" car discount. As long as there is no turbo or blower, the insurance dealers treat it as a "regular" car as far as rates go. Inferno Red 'may' make a subtle upwards price difference in some states if that's what you have. Try the "good hands people", that's who I use for all vehicles and homeowners.
