I just sold my escalade and while I was going to try and stay payment less for a while I have seen this car and may pull the trigger. Going to look at silver and a black one in gaithersburg today, dealer says $43630 for the truck totalling $46557 out the door taxes title etc.

I can also get a srt10 truck at about the same price but have been thinking this is more fuctional. I will need to fab a hitch to move a boat (right at 3500lbs) around the marina but nothing very far and long. I have bee searching the threads here and have found 3 hitch options. I may use the GC hitch and notch the fascia.

I do not think the harsh ride will be a problem since my toy car is a 82 911.

I have been trying to search reliability concerns and DD concerns but if you guys have any thoughts let me know?
Can you add xm to the factory nav radio via external inputs?

DD concerns will be 1) traffic 2) speed limit :D

Everyone who complains about the hard drive is a wuss and never had a car/truck with this type of suspension before (or even harder) ... no matter what they say.

The ride isn't bad ... its just fine

Rides just fine to me. Don't all cars ride like this?

SRT10 Ram is a bad idea as far as price...$12k depreciation in the time it takes to sign the paperwork. Ouch.

Well the srt8 won out. I picked up a black with nav this evening. I am extremely happy with it for the hour drive from the dealer. I know what I am getting into via Jeep so the creaks and rattles are expected. While I didnt push it very hard it really moves. I can't wait until break in is over.

What is the "blue site", a competing forum? I guess its time to do another good bit of search functions.

Looks like my first project by the May is to fab up a hitch. Trying to decide between the 1.5 and 2 receiver. Since mine is black the facia cut shouldnt be to bad. Looking at the ebay pics of the red one, if I can cut the receiver flush with the bumper a block off plate will be easy with not to much distraction. Can wait to drive some more tomorrow.

Coming from a small sports car, it is like night and day. I could cruise across the states in this Jeep! I would get beat up in 5 hours of driving in my last sports car.

TXblu I saw your hitch and it looks great. While I am decent with a welder and fabbing I think yours is a little beyond me. I am considering modding the stock hitch and letting the notch fall where it may and making a block off plate the covers the receiver square. I read a few threads that says the 07 gc hitch can be fabbed on with a few cuts. I was going to go one step farthe and clean up the end and make it flush.

I also commute to VA (Tysons Corner) for work. I saw another black GC SRT8 today coming out of the car wash here in Tysons Corner, on Route 7, right before Route 123.
