So guys tell me how the Jeep SRT8 is in the real world of commuting around. I am on the verge of purchasing one and just thought I'd ask you guys how they do as daily drivers? So.....help me out guys!

I use mine as a daily driver and while it can be rough and jarring over potholes, you'd be hard pressed to find a more fun daily driver. Gas consumption is a b*tch but we all knew that going into this.

Mine is a DD too. I love it. I'm pretty well accustomed to stiff / jarring suspension, so this one isn't too bad to me. And the plus sides FAR outweight the minuses.

True True on the gas consumption. Its cool though. I used to own a 70 Chevelle SS454 LS6 so ummm...lol...yeah it got 4mpg at times. Dont get much worse than that huh lol. The Jeep just seems like so much fun!!!

The GC SRT8 is the best daily driver I have owned. It's fun, functional and fast. 3 important F's to me.

DD here, I think its fine......but if you're coming out of a vehicle with a sport suspension you won't be quite that surprised on the ride.

If you're coming out of a Lexus, you might not be too thrilled (at least initially).

That aside, make sure you test drive one and go over some bumps, uneven pavement, etc.

So true. When I drive the Navigator, I love the ride and start to second guess the Jeep. That is, until I hit the gas and the Navi just stays put (relatively speaking, of course). All in all, if comfort is your goal, the Jeep's not the right choice. My commute is boring and the Jeep definitely makes it more fun. Thats something I can't say about many other vehicles.

ok stiff ride fine... but it's not THAT bad, only when you go through a rough pavement or something other than that it's actually reall smooth and very enjoyable as a daily driver. in one month i've put 2500 miles and not one complaint... and as for the gas i average 12.5 mpg 80% streets 20% highway (and most of the time traffic here in SoCal,lol)

Drive around 21 miles each way to work. The only thing that really sux is when I'm in traffic and can't enjoy the power. What year is the one that flies coming out? :D

That brings up a point - the roads in SoCal are MUCH BETTER than they are in Pennsylvania, believe me. I think if I drove in SoCal I'd think I was riding on rails! So the ride will vary based on where you are. In PA, you hit potholes and rough roads every 5 or 6 inches.

Ours is a daily driver for my wife. She knows it's a bit stiff riding, but she loves the power and the looks she gets. We will be taking it on a ski trip, so we are looking forward to seeing how it handles the snow.

I realize that it's not a perfect snow vehicle, but, for our uses, I am sure it will be fine.

Sure, there's a lot of plastic inside. If you want to spend another 50% more and get an X5, or Cayenne, go for it. I just don't think its worth it.

Stop Go Stop Go Stop Go

I think this Jeep is giving me an obsessive compulsive dissorder. But if you enjoy it, isn't it called something else? :D
