I just finished installing the Mopar CAI. I tried revving the engine while it was parked and the engine won't go over 4K RPM. I did everything the instructions asked including disconnecting the battery. No fault lights are on. I am a little leary to take it out for a test drive. I turned it off and restarted the car....same thing. What should I do? Any thoughts as to the problem?

The electronics wont allow an over rev condition when in Park or Neutral.
You have to get that thing into gear and give it a test!

ROTFLOL. That's probably not the best time to discover that one!
I had my Mopar CAI installed. I noticed a throatier sound and I can hear a whistling noise from it sometimes at a certain rpm.

Str8Srt8,
I'm very interested in adding just about the exact
aftermarket items that you have.
I also have a new black SRT8.
If you don't mind if I ask you and the other bretheren
a few questions:
Does the Mopar CAI give any real performance or milage gains?
What are "SRT8 runners and rails"?
Where did you get the fog horns and rear fog lights?
Just passed the 300 mile mark and may let her
stretch her legs soon.

I finally tested it out last night (in gear...not parked). It sounds alot throatier when going wide open throttle. The sound kind of surprised me....the intake sounds almost as loud as the exhaust...Tommy likes!!!

I'm sure there's some hp gain with the Mopar CAI. I'm just guessing here that it is about 5+hp. I can't say that I gained much milage wise as I'm mostly stop and go driving. I'm sure you can find out more details on CAI by doing a search on this forum. The runners are side steps that you would see on regular GC's. It makes it easier to go up top where the roof rails are. The rails are used to attach utility bars to which can hold items like bikes, skiis, canoes, shells, etc. The air horns were installed by the same company that did my trailer hitch and rear fog lights. The air horns require a compressor and air tank which I had mounted in front. You can find a how-to on the rear fog lights on this forum. I have my rear fog lights set up as brake lights and blinkers, working in parallel with my normal blinkers and brake lights.
