Hey guys,

We have finally gotten word from Eibach that the bumpstop problem that so many of you have run into has been resolved. They have designed a modified bumpstop cup and mouting hardware (to be used with the bumpstop already supplied in the spring kits).

They will be providing these to everyone at no charge, with one catch. I have provided a list of everyone's name and address to Eibach already, but they are requesting that people call them directly to receive their replacement items.

According to the email I just received, these will be ready for shipment tomorrow, October 17.

To receive the parts, please call 800-222-8811 and ask for Rosalia. In case any of you need it, the part number for these parts is 2892.540HKU

If any of you have questions or need anything, please feel free to email me at jades@stillen.com or call me at 800-576-2120 x166.

Jade

UPDATE: I just spoke with Rosalia, she confirmed that the correct part number is 2892.540HKU, and she also said rather than having everyone call her to get bumpstops, she is going to work her way down the list that I emailed her. She will be calling everyone to confirm that their address is still correct prior to shipment of the parts. So if you bought your springs from STILLEN, you should be receiving a call from Rosalia at Eibach soon to confirm your shipment information. Thanks!

haha, thanks Matt. I'm checking on the part number right now. 2892 makes more sense because it corresponds with the part number, but the email I received said it was a 2895. I'll update the original post if it is incorrect.

Thanks!

Jade

Friendly bump!

Mine bottomed out with about 250 lbs in the rear, so I really need this. Yeah, me and this chick. When the Jeeps a rocking, don't come a knocking! Haha! Just kidding.

I think it might be easier to just call and see what's up.

I wouldn't be in a super rush to get these. I was one of the first to get them, and I finally got around to installing them last night. They actually move the whole package CLOSER to the solid axle, so it has even LESS travel before it bottoms out.

I'm kind of pissed I wasted the time calling around to verify that these bump stops were SHORTER then the current ones and was told YES THEY WERE, by Eibach. To only get the stock ones out and find out the replacements are LONGER.

I think those that are bottoming out bad are going to be SADLY disappointed in this fix. Its only MARGINALLY better at best. The only thing it does do is pre LOAD the suspension if you will, because now there is NO air GAP between the foam bushing and the flat metal pad on the solid axle.

Very disappointed in Eibach on this one. If I had to do it all over again, I would have just stayed stock.

Keep in mind I am one of the few people that are NOT having serious problems with bottoming out, mine comes from occasional high speed expansion joints, and big dips in the road that cause mine. So to have it happen is rare for my jeep, but i certainly know how to make it happen. Which I did last night on my way home, and it only MILDLY reduced the 'thud' of the bump stop caseing hitting the bumpstop pad on the axle.

Sorry for those that were hoping it was the final solution. Its more of an under delivered promise. :(

Back on Wednesday, Eibach said they would have their tech check this thread and respond again, but I see nothing else was posted. I'll drop them a quick line again to see if they can possibly post up an explanation.

I didn't get mine yet. You might have to call if you got bumped to the bottom of the list.

Got mine. I will install this weekend and let you know how they work out. Changing the rears is a snap. I think I changed them out in about 30 minutes the first time.

Did you take off the wheels, jack up the car, and/or remove the springs to do it?

What about those of us who didn't order from Stillen?

Houston, no biggie if you didn't get them from Stillen. Just email Rosalia Martinez at Eibach (rmartinez@eibach.com) and include a copy of your receipt for your springs and she'll take care of you.
