stupid question from soon to be jeep owner. love the way the chrome delete looks but not sure how to do it. i want the dealership to do it before i take possession of it saturaday. could anybody tell me how they did it. thanks guys.

i am putting in a 180 stat. b-woody, and want to do the chrome delete. what about getting rid of the srt8 badge on the rear?

The dealership won't do it for you! You will need to order new side mouldings and have a bodyshop paint them to match. Then there are a few different ways to get rid of the chrome along the bottom of the windows, and on the front air damn, and on the back. You can either have them all pulled off (PITA) and painted along with the mouldings, or you can get some chrome black out tape at Autozone, etc. Or you can do what I did, get someone that has a sign/vinyl shop to proffesionaly put on vinyl over those chrome pieces. You can cover the whole back strip, including the backup sensors, and your sensors will still work perfectly too!

Well what color is the Jeep your looking at? I think that tape would only look good on black. If your getting silver or red you probaly wont get the tape to even come close to matching... In that case you would probably have to have it all painted...

Just take all the chrome off and ship it to me

I used the tape on the windows and tht works great. I used this on all the other trim pieces. It's also easy to remove if you decide to take it off later. One of my pieces got scratched and I was able to just peel it off in pretty much one piece and then just re sprayed it. Did I mention use the spray can type? The front and back pieces can be easilty taped off and sprayed without removing them. Looks just like factory trim

It takes a bit to get off, but looks good when it is on. I don't know what brand or anything, it is vinyl used for making graphics and stickers and stuff!

It just comes in roll's on paper backing...Its rated at about 4 years outdoor use... for this i would just cut it into strips and then trim it with a pen knife once its on...
I might be able to pre cut the widths for you and then youll just have to trim the curves on the front (lower bumper piece) and the lenghts...

Im not sure it would look the best on the door trim.. going over the GRAND CHEROKEE.. i would have those pieces painted...

I would suggest doubling the front piece since you will get rock chips...just a thought, I doubled mine!

i will try to go over the grandcherokee if it cheap enough how much does it cost for all of it to be pre cut

Ill have to measure mine tonite and see how much vinyl would be needed.. the longest piece would be the one across the back, i might be able to get the rest out of the rest of the width of the roll.. ill have to get back to you on a price(Ill pm you)
doing the Grand Cherokee mouldings will about double the price (obv. because its about double the material.. i would also be worried about being able to get all of the edges of these pieces as they 'pop out' more than the other trim which is pretty flush....
But if you want to try its up to you
