: Went shopping for GC srt-8 today..
I went to a Fairbanks Jeep in south Florida (where I live)... they had one black GC srt-8 there fully loaded with the SRT 1 option package... with the GPS and read DVD player. This GC also already had 2,000 miles on it ...
They came to me with a quote of $59,368 ... & it was used!
I want to buy this car but the mark-up on it was absolutely ridiculous & makes it nearly impossible to buy. When I researched this car with all of the options that I want (SRT 1 option, etc...); the list price was no more than $46,000
I am willing to fly to any state to pick up a BLACK GC with the SRT 1 option, fully loaded... FOR A GOOD DEAL ONLY.
Someone please HELP!
There was 1 black one (sold now I believe) in western Washington (Seattle area) last week. It was priced at $58595. Markup is rediculous in some marketplaces. Good luck with your search.
2MCHPSI 04-22-2006, 05:41 PM They sell for MSRP all day long here in Michigan. A ton of dealerships have fully-loaded Black on the lot now.
What pisses me off the most about it, is the fact that it was freaking USED!!! 2000 miles on it!
jms935 04-22-2006, 08:24 PM Michigan, Michigan, Michigan!!! You can buy under MSRP in Michigan!!!
echo412 04-22-2006, 10:18 PM bought mine today fully loaded with tax/tag out the door for 53.5K .. yaeh the markup is outrages... they know its hot
Red SRT-8 04-23-2006, 07:23 AM I paid $52K out the door including tax and license with every available option and only 13 miles on the odometer. I stumbled on it after they just put it in the showroom at the dealership 50 miles up the road. I paid a little mark up but not bad and they completely paid off my '05 AWD 300C. $59K+ with 2,000 mles is not a good deal, especially if you are willing to go out of state to buy. The last time I looked, there were several brand new SRT-8 Jeeps on ebay. You might take a look there too.
Does anyone recommend a dealership in Michigan to check out??
Masta Z 04-23-2006, 10:36 AM ebay has one in mich and one in tx
TurboPowered 04-23-2006, 12:36 PM I highly reccommend Southfield Chrysler Jeep, I bought a Commander from there and I know they have a decent amount of SRT-8 GC's there. Speak with Kim Logan, she's great to deal with.
2MCHPSI 04-24-2006, 02:57 PM Speaking from someone who contacted EVERY dealership within a 50 mile radius from me, the BEST service I found was from Cueter Jeep in Ypsilanti. Call and ask for Heidi McKissick - let her know that Luan (Lou) sent you that way, she'll be able to take care of you. Just so you know, I ended up not being able to pick one up from her because I didn't want to wait for theirs to come in, but I beleive they have 2 Black ones in now.
2MCHPSI 04-24-2006, 02:57 PM Oh, and stay away from Golling. They are scam artists.
Inferno SRT8 04-24-2006, 06:36 PM I payed $46 here with the extended warranty 5/70 tax and titled.
waydennis 04-25-2006, 07:24 PM Got my Silver SRT8 GC at CarMax in Orlando for $38 under MSRP. They had a black one in stock at slightly under MSRP. Check their website under New Cars. My sells rep Allan was tops...
CarMax has the advantage of the no haggle deal.
Good luck!!!

yeah i looked at that .. it's not loaded .. doesnt have dvd and alot of other stuff
PhoenixGTS 04-25-2006, 08:19 PM Paid just about $2k over MSRP two weeks ago, but only had to wait two weeks and the dealer is only three miles from my house so no shipping. You just cannot get these trucks in the car crazy Phoenix Metro Area for MSRP.
waydennis 04-25-2006, 08:25 PM It has the SRT Group I and the Nav system.
What options other than the DVD is it missing?
I doubt he needs the engine block heater here in South Florida.

it's almot 6k in stuff its missing .. it's worth waht its worth
jms935 04-25-2006, 09:22 PM So basically it is bone stock with nothing added, and they are asking MSRP on a fully loaded vehicle. That doesn't sound like such a good deal. Let alone you'd be buying it at carmax, you wouldn't get the little dealer perks like free car washes or oil changes.
I would say keep looking, but then again I know how difficult this car is to find in Florida.
Check out the Dealer in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Last time I checked they had 4. But they quoted me $2K over list, 2 weeks ago. The Jeep.com website is the best way to find what you want - just check dealers' inventory one-by-one. This website: http://www.wkjeeps.com/wk_srt8_distribution.htm is useful in seeing where they've all been shipped. Anyway, I did the whole thing by remote control from Italy.
I ultimately bought a silver one in El Paso TX for list price last week. It's now at John Hennessey's shop in Houston for a big time tune-up, before delivery to me, back at home in SC next week. I'll let y'all know how she runs.

Trust me, it has the SRT Option Group I and the DVD Nav system. I bought the same unit in silver. They are selling for just under the MSRP of the vechicle plus options.
I now have 430 miles on the silver one I got on Friday. Go to the website and check it out.
I have not got kids so I did not want the Infotainment system. It worked out good for me.
Although, they had an SRT-10 Truck that caught my eye for $46K, $7K under MSRP of $53K.
Paid just about $2k over MSRP two weeks ago, but only had to wait two weeks and the dealer is only three miles from my house so no shipping. You just cannot get these trucks in the car crazy Phoenix Metro Area for MSRP. we have none in the Prescott or Cottonwood area either, neither dealer has received even one truck. For the entire month of April AZ has had only 2 delivered in the state
jms935 04-28-2006, 11:55 PM I bought mine from a dealer in Bloomfield, Michigan. Fully loaded inferno red for 1k over invoice delivered to Chicago.
jxanthony 04-29-2006, 12:46 AM I'm in the market to get a cherokee SRT8 (by the looks of things, I may wait for an 07 when they come with the upgraded stereo option) and my dealership has me on call everytime they get one in.
Long story short, got a call today for a loaded silver that was 57900. What a steal.
ResumeSpeed 04-29-2006, 05:04 AM I may wait for an 07 when they come with the upgraded stereo option)
The Kicker system is not going to be available until later in the model year, and there's even a small chance it could be delayed until model year 2008.
These being rare vehicles, did those of you who purchase do a test drive first or did you just buy?
I know sometimes dealers will not allow test drives because no one wants miles on the car.
I'm thinking about picking one up, but I wouldn't buy without test driving first.

No test drive for me. I did test drive a 2006 Overland ahead of my SRT8 purchase to get a general feel for the new WK generation models. I loved the Overland "feel" and features enough to know I would like the SRT8 even better, and knew from reading enough reviews that the ride would be a bit stiffer. No test drive is needed in my opinion, you won't be disappointed.
Red SRT-8 04-29-2006, 05:43 AM These being rare vehicles, did those of you who purchase do a test drive first or did you just buy?
99% of the dealerships won't let you test drive them. But, they may very well get you in at the SRT Track Experience and you can hammer on all the SRT vehicles there. I never got to test drive my truck until I had the loan approved. However, with my Jeep, not only did they move another vehicle so they could pull it out of the showroom, they let me drive it home (90 miles round trip) to show my wife. Of course, they knew they had a pretty sure sell the moment I walk in because, as much as I was trying to hide it, I was drooling all over the place.
candyman 04-29-2006, 07:39 AM Picking up my Inferno red one in about 5 hrs. I've never even see one in person much less driven one. But thats soon gonna change. Can't wait!
TheeSRT8Guy 04-29-2006, 10:04 AM Just wanted to say hey and introduce myself. I came over from the SRT8 OC to let you know that I have 2 in stock in orlando fl.
2006 Cherokee SRT8 Bright Silver Metallic
2006 Cherokee SRT8 Black Clear Coat
I was reading the previous posts and my black one is the 29L package. This one is fully loaded with the infotainment system in the rear.
Hope I can be of some help to you in your search. PM me with any questions you might have.
All the best,
Laurier
BTW ZZIK, you can come and test drive mine!
I'm in Orange County, CA and looked around this weekend and check inventories and didn't see any SRT8's nearby at all. Does anyone know any dealers in the LA area that has any SRT8's?
One cheezy looking salesman was even dumb enough to ask me "Are they out yet?" Which brings me to US car buying experience in general. Aaah, the fun of it.
The only thing I hate about buying a Jeep is dealing with those salesman...the type that don't really know shit about the cars they're trying to sell, but hang out on the lot prowling for buyers, thinking of his plan of attack, ready to ask me what I can afford to pay per month. You know the type. I've never experienced this at BMW, Mercedes, or Porsche, but I presume it could exist in some of those dealers too, just not as bad. But it's <B><I>always</I></B> the same experience at the Chrysler/Ford/Dodge/Jeep/GM/Other dealer. I just don't get why they don't learn and why they want to offer a crappy experience from the beginning. Quit thinking of find ways to rip me off or close the sale and just help me out.
Chrysler could sell these SRT8s like hot cakes but they won't manufacture enough. For cryin' out loud, there are enough freakin' Laredos on the lot already. Make more SRT8's!
Enough *****in' for now...hehe, I'm just pissed that none of these monster dealers has any SRT8's in stock. Guess I'll have to fly to another state or buy via Carmax.
I did see a black on down in Laguna Beach this weekend.
split2112 05-01-2006, 05:54 PM enzo, im in manhattan beach. I got mine from carmax.
there is a dealership in Agoura that has 3 i believe.
South Bay has a Silver, but im sure they are selling for over sticker.
nazzdeq 05-03-2006, 08:27 PM Went down to Orange Coast in Costa Mesa, CA and they have 7 SRT8's on the lot. They are buying them from other dealers and as a result, they're selling them all for 10k over MSRP, so the one I want is 55k. No way I would ever pay that. I won't pay over MSRP period. Anyone that would pay that is either desperate or stupid.
Will keep looking.

speedfactor 05-03-2006, 09:01 PM I'm in Ca and have been shopping for a GCSRT8 for the past 2 months...I refuse to pay a dime over msrp also but after 2 months of lookin I'm beginning to realize I might have to...the best deal I got so far for a fully loaded black one was 2750 over msrp....I might just be patient and sit it out..hopefully a better deal will come by or maybe not...it's a bit extreme for you to say that whoever that will pay that is stupid or desperate..some are willing to pay over msrp and some of us don't....the ones that are paying for it can afford and don't mind paying just because they want it right away and dont want to wait...I however do have the patience and is waiting on a good deal...others don't think that way and see it as the time can be spent elsewhere instead of shopping for a car...you might think its stupid but others can also say spending 50k for a car is stupid....especially with the high gas prices these days...but if you have the money and you can afford it why not?...If I could afford to pay over msrp I would have done it a long time ago and would of been driving my SRT8...instead of constantly checking inventories and calling numerous dealerships...But I do agree with you...the dealerships out here are charging outrageous prices but hey there are people that are buying them and they're being sold....
LaRock 05-03-2006, 09:34 PM Why not just order from a dealer out of state (like MI) that have loads of them and have it shipped? That would be cheaper than paying $2500+ over MSRP.
I'm in Ca and have been shopping for a GCSRT8 for the past 2 months...I refuse to pay a dime over msrp also but after 2 months of lookin I'm beginning to realize I might have to...the best deal I got so far for a fully loaded black one was 2750 over msrp...
I tried getting an SRT8 in San Diego and the best deal I could find was $7500 over MSRP (a so called military discount). Others I found were priced up to $20,000 over invoice. A test drive was pretty much out of the question unless you bought it.

Like you, I checked some SRT8 Jeeps at some local Jeep Dealer, but I couldn't afford the mark up around here in Socal ($10k-$20k above MSRP). Since I'm in the military, I was able to order an Inferno Red SRT8 GC through a military vendor below MSRP, but I have to pick it up at a dealership in Montana (I’m a Montana resident) to save even more on sales taxes. :)
Bottom Line: I have to wait awhile longer to get my SRT8 and I have to go to Montana to get it, but it's worth it to me to eliminate the local mark up ($7,500-$20,000), get a real military discount ($2,500 off MSRP), and save on taxes ($3,500 on a $46,945 vehicle).:D
Hopefully the Jeep will be delivered this summer and I'll have a most excellent SRT8 driving experience from Montana back down to San Diego. It’s a good thing that I’ll be saving a few bucks on this purchase, because the way gas prices are going, I just might end up breaking even on this deal by the time I drive it back to San Diego.
I don’t know if SRT8 SoCal prices will be going down anytime soon. You may have to go to another state to get MSRP like I did. :(
nazzdeq 05-04-2006, 03:59 AM I'll wait for a few months. Orange Coast has 7 SRT8's on the lot, we'll see how fast they move. 07's will be coming out just around the corner anyway.
If dealers don't want to make a deal fine with me. As gas prices continue to increase, SUV sales will slow even more and dealers will be under more pressure to sell. Most SRT8 drivers don't really care about gas prices and I don't really either, but dealers will have to move inventory.
At that point I won't even pay MSRP anymore, max 2k under MSRP. I have patience so no big deal. I don't need to buy at all, but they need to sell.
CapnFKW 05-04-2006, 07:29 AM I had the same issue trying to get one in SoCal. The best deal I could find in San Dieo was 5k over. I ended up getting mine in Reno, Nevada for sticker. Awesome drive back down, lemme tell ya!
best/srt/deal 05-04-2006, 11:00 AM I have 2 for sale @msrp $45,590. I am located on long island new york.1 silver and 1 black.

Yard248 05-04-2006, 02:06 PM I have at least 8 GC SRT-8's on my lot as we speak... I am in Michigan... PM for further questions.. Hope this helps your endless search for this beautiful Jeep.
LaRock 05-04-2006, 06:04 PM I just got back from carmax in Norcross/ATL GA. They have 3 black new GC SRT8s. They sell for about $300 under MSRP with No Haggle buying. They let you take it out and open it up on the road too. Sales Guy said you can drive how you want, but if you get the ticket you are paying for it :)
TampaFence 05-31-2006, 09:39 PM Good god, man. You're shopping at the WRONG dealer.
I drove a loaded, black SRT8 tonight at Dayton Andrews Jeep (Clearwater, FL)...used, with 700 miles on it and was quoted $41,000. These guys are straight shooters.
I have to decide tomorrow if I want to "put up" with this kind of vehicle. I currently have it locked-in for consideration, but call them in a few days. Maybe it'll still be there...and maybe not :-)
Rob_06SRT8 06-04-2006, 10:26 AM Long Island NY in the house
The dealer I got mine at (Smithaven) had Black and Red in stock. Although they TRIED adding 5K+ to the Sticker, I would not pay one penny over sticker (heck I didnt want to pay that). I ended up getting it for Sticker,
39K + the 6K option, came to $46,049.00 but of course I had to pay some tax, dealer BS, and I did end up going for the 7yr/70K wrrnty in which they hit me for another 3K. Considering I think I did ok....
PhoenixGTS 06-04-2006, 10:59 AM we have none in the Prescott or Cottonwood area either, neither dealer has received even one truck. For the entire month of April AZ has had only 2 delivered in the state
And I got one of them !!! Phoenix Scottsdale is such a car crazy town that it is hard to believe they are not allocating more trucks to the dealers here.

framingham here too, actually bought in Natick though wanted the silver one.
Untouchable 06-05-2006, 12:38 PM bought mine in Hicksville, NY. They were asking 50,590. One week, one walkout, and several online coupons later, I nailed it for 43,500. Fully loaded black. I too got the extended warranty. Do you guys think the warranty is worth it.
TypeR0149 06-17-2007, 03:07 PM I just bought one new for 38,400 + tax for one
sorry i was looking at threads and thought this one was funny, from where the market was a year ago on these trucks, now they cant give them away(im joking, of course but its alot easy to find a Bemow invoice deal)

I can't believe I missed this thread man....I live in S.Fla also and I got mine for a great price at Tamiami Chrysler. If you're still in the market for one, pm me and I'll give you my boy's number...he's the GM and they always have at least 4 in stock.
EX.
navyavi469 06-17-2007, 07:41 PM Hey here's a rather obvious solution. CARMAX actually sells new jeeps out of two lcoations, florida and california... they sell for MSRP, and they will get loaded SRT8 Jeeps in from time to time. They'll also ship it to you through their shipping network if you buy it over-the-phone from the dealer in question.
El Jefe 06-18-2007, 12:38 AM Stopped by one of the dealers here and they have a black one coming in July. $61k haha. I finally saw another one here in Tucson. Silver with a dealer test drive plate on the side. Theres another Jeep dealership Ill go try and check out.
dukie748 06-18-2007, 10:01 AM Bought mine a couple of months ago from Courtesy Jeep in Brandon, FL - new from dealer, last day of month/quarter. Paid $40275 for SRT8 with Option 1 Package + Sunroof; only equipment missing was the nav and rear entertainment package which I didn't want anyway. Sticker was $43695. Even better, I phoned for 'cash price', then arrived with a trade-in and managed to get well over book on the trade (did pay the balance cash though), amazing what they'll do when you are prepared to walk away. I love playing the car buying game.
El Jefe 06-20-2007, 02:16 PM I stopped by the other dealership(Steve Christy Jeep, Tucson, AZ) and they have 3 2007 SRT8 Jeeps.
2 red(1 inside) and 1 Silver. Invoice on 2 of them was $46k. I didnt see any dealer markup anywhere.
http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u32/Roush03/IMAGE_00029.jpg
Might wanna check them out. They also had 4 or 5 300C SRT8's.

That is MSRP, an there is about $3,500 in mark up built into it.
