: I Did It......
PCHIEF520 12-16-2006, 06:58 PM I put in a Order for a red 07' today, it's a friend of the WIFE who sold me my first jeep. It was the first time i ever been in one :) He gave me the keys and said "LETS GO" I looked at my wife with a "HOLY CRAP CAN I" (I told her before i was going to have my game face on and show some intrest), but at that second i just fell apart ( Like the GIANTS a few weeks ago). All i have to say is WHERE DO I SIGN, I HAD A BLAST, we went on I95 for three exit's. I am hooked. I got the jeep with the srt8 option only, for $41,900 Plus tax of $2600. I also got the extended warrenty for 7yr/85k Maximum care, plus a Four wheel/tire protection for $2500, for a total out the door price of $47,572.44. Is this a good deal or should i look around?
do you really need the warranty? Plan on modding?

34z28 12-16-2006, 09:59 PM My .02, your price is way high. That my be due to the geography. I purchased my 07 GC SRT8 (Texas) 3 weeks ago and I have every option on a steel blue MSRP $46,540. I paid 400 more then the 41,900 price you have.
Base price for a SRT8 is 40,105 plus 695 destination charge. So are they charging you over MSRP?
2.6k for less then 50k mile coverage sounds high and service plans usually have a deductible and may limit you on what will be fixed and where, read the fine print. I say less then 50k since because Chrysler includes 36k mile with purchase, so you are buying service (insurance) for the extra 49k to 85k miles.
2.5 tire coverage, you realize if you hit a curb or other your insurance should cover the damage, at least my insurance does. For 2500 I can buy a couple of sets of tire and put them in the garage. The insure only covers the original set and they last maybe 20k miles?
Just my opinion of course, keep shopping.
OurZoo 12-16-2006, 11:12 PM Keep shopping or go get it tomorrow.

synoil 12-17-2006, 06:47 AM I just bought a black SRT8 with SRT8 option 1 and sunroof for
45K OTD. The OTD price was almost 47K but they took my
offer. I could have done better out of state maybe but not
here in the Detroit area.
At this point I really don't care as I love this vehicle. The gas
milage is a little scary but I only have about 175 miles on her.
Hey is it normal at 70 mph cruise to be at 2500rpm?

Yes, this is normal. Good luck.
34z28 12-17-2006, 08:24 AM I am in Houston. I had to drive to San Antonio. The dealership has a blk srt8 they will do the same deal. I was going to get a second one for my wife but I am having problems with my srt8, so I am a lot reluctant to reward chrysler for their poor service. Let me know if you want the dealer and the salesmen's name, I will hook you up.
PCHIEF520 12-17-2006, 08:36 AM WOW, thanks for ur input, I am in Conn, the dealer is in Fairfield. I had a dream about this truck, JEEP HAS ME HOOKED. SO, i will talk to him and see what they can do better for me?
synoil 12-17-2006, 10:11 AM Don't forget to just make them an offer. Say they want 48,XXX out the
door. Offer them 46K OTD. If the truck is in stock I'd bet they would
bite like mine did.

Mango 12-17-2006, 12:13 PM Congrats!! You will love it!
I agree that the price seems high. My full sticker price is $46, 540 full loaded 07'. I paid less than $42,000 after rebates.

Mango 12-17-2006, 03:32 PM 3 weeks ago. I got roughly $5k in rebates, i.e. Military Discount, loyalty, and some Grand Cherokee cash back rebate.
PCHIEF520 12-17-2006, 05:51 PM I think i will talk to the salesguy this week, and see what i can do. He is a friend of ours, so i don't really want to buy one from someone else. APPAYIPYIP how did u get the other rebates other than the military one? i have a 04 GC lease that's due in Feb. Should i order one, or buy one on the lot in Feb, when the time comes and see what i can due for Invoice. Also i will have about $20,000 to $23,000 dollors cash in a bank check in hand.
ResumeSpeed 12-18-2006, 03:21 AM I'll never buy a new vehicle from a salesperson who is a friend or relative. You are instantly at a disadvantage as you will be more uncomfortable if aggressive negotiation comes into play. A friend or relative cannot usually get you a "better" deal. The final price is not up to the salesperson.
Second, and most important, skip all of the extended warranty options (and everything else they offer in the finance room). WHY pay $thousands$ in advance for something you wouldn't even be able to use for several years? You can buy the extended warranty anytime in the future. The cost may be a little higher but you'll have a better feel for the reliability of the particular vehicle after a couple years go by. Besides, you may want to trade it in in 2-3 years and if so will be glad you didn't buy the warranty. As for the tire warranty, it's a rip. Goodyear covers all road hazards for one year. The cost of the tire warranty would probably pay for a whole set of new tires on the open market.
GodfatherSRT8 12-18-2006, 04:00 PM Good advice RS.
Bostonsrt8 12-18-2006, 06:44 PM I paid 2k under invoice all options two weeks ago. It was on the lot since end of September. Always deal at the end of the month this is to your advantage. Search Autotrader.com & cars.com to see what dealers are in your area that have it in stock.

Wow, that's a great deal. I picked up mine in Norwood Mass a month ago for $950 over invoice. How did you negotiate such a good price?
Bostonsrt8 12-18-2006, 07:29 PM I had mine on order since March, they gave me all sort of excuses changed it from 06 to 07 in Aug. Finally came in in middle of November and offered to me for $500 over sticker which was the original P&S. I went in to do the deal and they insulted me on my trade 06 300C SRT8 with 20k miles, their final offer was $23k. This is a dealer ship that I have bought two cars in two years 300C and the 300C SRT8. So I put them off for two weeks and did a search on cars.com and autotrader.com for 07 GCS RT8. I brought my 300C SRT8 to three other dealers, did not get into the BS of how much they would give me for me car or how much I would pay for the 07 GC SRT8 just concentrated on how much am I writing the check out for bottom line. Best deal was 2k under invoice and trade value for my car. Do your homework!
