That's too much for 4K miles, and that's assuming it has navigation and rear entertainment system. However, if they are giving you more on trade-in than another dealer would, it might work out to be a good deal.

A new '08 can be had on ebay for $39,500 with 4k miles. The dealership is located in Knoxville, TN.

Welcome to the site.

NEVER let the dealer combine your trade in deal with your new purchase. They are two separate deals! Work out a fair trade in value (do your research) and then work out a price for the SRT8.

I would never buy a demo of a high performance car (or SUV). But, if you must I would not pay more than $34-$35K for that particular 08.

Why don't you sell the Z first, then buy a SRT8 from a private party or another dealer. There are a bunch of 08's for sale all over the place.

Fu<k that, they are trying to rip you off. You can get a brand new one for way cheaper than $48K, let alone with 4k miles on it...screw them and welcome to the site!

They want way too much, like $15k too much.

Yeah, I was thinking of trying to sell it, but the market is rough right now with the recent employe discount. I figure that they should take off atleast 6k for that demo, which brings it down to 36. Then 58k for the Z which leaves 6k leftover and there it is, back to sticker price. I am still not sure if that is a good enough deal. If I was to sell the Z outright, I could probably get 58-59k for it. Which still leaves 5k negative. The jeep does not have Nav or rear entertainment. Thanks.....

O yeah, when they first came out with the bargain sheet they were asking 59999 for the Jeep. I laughed my ass off. I get so angry with these salesman. I want to reach over the table and bop them right in the nose!!!!

Whatever you decide, I'm sure you'll love the Jeep. There are several guys on here that have added the Z06 to their stables, but kept the Jeep--if thats any indication of how satisfied they are with it.

Dude contact Don Conrad at champion Jeep. He's on here. Screen name (championjeep). He'll hook you up if he is still selling them. I think he is right guys?

Let them sit on it. Try a different dealership. You can get a new one at sticker price for what they want. Do they still want over MSRP on it? It's not a Challenger.

You didn't say Hawaii...Yes, That sounds about right then. I've seen cars out there with a 10K markup for no reason.

What island do you live on?

You must be on Oahu?

I know Don sells fully loaded 08's for 44,000. Plus he would charge probably another 2,000+ to ship it there. I've shipped cars from Maui to LA before thru Matson-

I would contact a dealer in LA and get it shipped out to you. You might wait a little longer but it will be brand new and not a demo with 4,000 hard driven miles

The question is, do you want to spend 20 more months in that tiny Z06? If you cant, the trade it in. If you can wait, then hold off. The only problem with holding off is that these guys may be giving you more for the Z06 because they know they can really mark it up, since there is a limited supply on the island. That won't be the case on the continent.

Well, I ended up trading in the Z for the SRT. I brought the Z06 to about 3 dealers and the result was not pretty. All the other dealers around here wanted to give me around 45-55k, some wouldn't even touch it. This deal was an okay deal. The SRT will be used much more. Now I won't be paying for a car that sits in my garage. The Z will be greatly missed, but I have the GC now. I was just driving it around in the rain and I sure love the no tire spin.....Thanks for the help guys.....
