GoodYear replaced 3 tires from a type of recall because they could not get a forth because the tires are supposedly on nation-wide back order. I have 11,200 miles on my tires so was wondering if the difference in the size of the brand new tires and the one used tire will affect my AWD system?

I'd get them to give you the 4th tire when they show up.

I seem to remember that there was a replacement protocol they were going to follow...only replace in pairs or something? Does anyone else remember something like this?

They would replace the forth but the tires are supposedly on back order which means it could be up to 6 months. I can't see this being to good on the rigs AWD

my tire guy ordered them from Memphis, 3 came in first and he made me wait for the 4th so that he could replace all at the same time.
Whole process only took about a 10 days.

That's not right. Whoever did that is a moron. Make them fix it before something goes wrong. It specifically states in the recall that worn tires shall be replaced in pairs.

They should do all 4, but unless your old one is basically completely bald, you won't hurt your AWD. You can theoretically get away with up to a .25 inch of difference in OD without harming the system.

If one tire on an axle is replaced, they are supposed the change both on that axle. I would call Goodyear to confirm the back order issue. Goodyear would have been crazy mailing out the recall (or campaign) letter without having enough on hand. Goodyear should be able to ship another tire to your tire dealer. Good luck and congrats on new tires at 11K.

Goodyear is on strike ... I tried to get some new tires and no one had them either -- ****ING LAME.

Had nails in both my front tires ... and no one has them in stock, OR can get them ... jesus christ.
