Among other planned mods for my baby, I'm going to shave the door handles. My only problem is that I'm somewhat unfamiliar with the technical aspects. Can anyone offer any insight into brands, kits, etc? I'm not 100% sure I want poppers - I'd hate to smack other cars. And what about a manual switch hidden under the frame in case the car loses power - is that switch always active such that someone could trigger it even when the car has power and the doors are locked (does it override the everything?)? Any insight from those of you with experience would be appreciated. Thanks.

I looked at getting a bikini line style for my door handles, but it just didn't look right on a Jeep. My hidden switch under the frame isn't for entry, but to scare the $:*($# out of people who happen to find a hidden switch.

There are many ways to do it but if your interested suicidedoors.com sells nice kits and great prices on the stuff needed. you can put the additional switch in a little key locked box, even though it would be a pain to use in an emmmergency its alot safer. Also you will never have to lock your doors because there are no handles on the outside... so no reason to lock them, also if you did lock them and lost power you have no way to get in besides a slim jim

Go to a few hotrod forums and ask about this. It's obviously one of the most popular mods for a reason. However, you'll find that the VAST majority of folks who have done this mod will tell you they'd never consider it for their daily drivers.
